Captain Josh studied fly fishing guiding at the Sweetwater Guide School in Montana and graduated in the summer of 2025.
Around here the fishing is popular for Salmon, Rainbow Trout (Steelhead), Brown Trout, Northern Pike, and more, depending on the time of year.
Depending on the species you're after, you may find yourself drifting, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Josh also offers fly fishing. For the more adventurous among you, there's spearfishing.
Your vessel for the day is a 16' Smoker Craft drift boat with room for 2 passengers. It comes with all the essentials. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures. Live bait is available.
Before coming aboard, you will need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
A few items to bring include a hat, polarized sunglasses, bottled water, and sunblock (non-spray).

We had a nice trip even though we didn’t catch anything our guide was very nice, kind and knowledgeable. If we had a question he answered and taught us a few things we didn’t know for next time on our fishing trip. We will be sure to plan a steel head fishing trip for march he was telling us about. Captain Josh was friendly and knowledgeable. I learned a lot and got to work on fly casting. The Manistee is a really amazing River. Although due to summer heat the trout were not biting that day. He made sure I was equipped with knowledge and skills to fish any river in the area. I would recommend his guide services. Lastly he made amazing venison burgers riverside.

You can cancel or modify your booking up to 3 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.

When the captain confirms your trip, FishingBooker charges your credit card a 30% deposit to guarantee your reservation.
The remaining balance is to be paid directly to the charter operator on or prior to your trip date in one of the following payment methods:
