Chromeseekers – Big Manistee River
Come fish with Chromeseekers! After Lake Michigan, Captain Dan and Keygan offers yet another adventure. This time, you can join them on the Big Manistee River. Keygan will run all of September trips and early October. Dan will come down once the Betsie and Lake Mich slows.
Keygan will also be running trips for Dan from April 5 to June 5 as Dan hits the Detroit river.
Depending on where the salmon are in numbers on the manistee, we might suggest fishing the betsie river if we cant offer a great trip on the Big Man.
Rest assir, we will get you on the best fishing possible. The trips are suitable for both beginners and avid anglers, so there’s a fish to be found for everyone.
You’ll be fishing 1 of 2 boats.
One is a 17’ Smokercraft boat that accommodates up to 2 anglers during steelhead and 3 during Salmon. This jet boat is powered by a 40/60 HP Yamaha engine.
Keygans boat is a 16 ft stealthcraft power drifter with a 60/40 jet.
Steelhead fishing gets going sometime in October when we get some rain and cooler temperatures.
Winter can be a great time because the crowds are gone. Don't let the snow or cold stop you because this can be some good fishing for winter-run Steelhead. Due to freezing conditions, we will not run any trips under 30 deg through fishbooker.
Late February the spring run starts to show up and can get good anytime between late February and late April depending on the weather. Available until May.
The captain takes care of your fishing equipment, including lures and gear.
Don’t forget to purchase your fishing license and pack some snacks and drinks for the day.

Keegan was extremely knowledgeable and put us on the fish! Missed more kings than I could count and still almost caught a 2 man in 4 hours. Keegan shared alot of his knowledge and the trip was worth it just for all the knowledge I gained on fishing in Northern Michigan. Highly recommend!

James Thank you so much for choosing us as your guide service! so glad you guys had s great time with Keygan! You guys did a great job showing those fish who is boss. if we can ever be a service to you again, please let me know! thanks again! Captain Dan Stewart
Our captain was awesome, plenty of instruction and information, but without being overbearing. He was knowledgeable and taught us a lot about river fishing for salmon. He also went out of his way to make sure we landed fish. He used a variety of techniques to put us on the fish. We will be back to go out with the same captain!!!

We were new to salmon fishing and the captain was friendly, informative and patient with us. Hooked into many and caught our fill. Would recommend.
I was very happy with Capt. Dan Stewart and Chromeseekers. Definitely would book with him again. Very knowledgeable, polite, patient and put us on the fish.

Our guide Keygan was great. He put us on fish and gave us tips for success. He was adapt at handling the boat and all the gear. Great time. Beautiful day in northern MI!

Thanks Ed for the great review! Come back and see us again.
Captain Dan Stewart has been fishing for as long as he can remember. From SE Michigan to NW Michigan, we have a boat for everything. As a result, he knows all the hiding spots for favorites including Steelhead, Chinook, Coho Salmon and walleye throughout the state of Michigan. He'll easily accommodate both experienced anglers and novices and looks forward to giving his guests a welcome escape to nature. You will have such a great time with Captain Dan that you will be booking other trips the rest of the year around the great state of Michigan. My season starts in the Nw for Steelhead. In Mid April I move to the Detroit River for walleye. In May I move to the St Clair river for walleye. When Lake St Clair heats up I move over there. Around Mid June I end the walleye fishing and move back to the Nw chasing a variety of fish. We fish crystal lake and all other inland lakes near by. We are also fishing Lake Michigan for Salmon and Trout. We follow the salmon up river then back to steelhe
