Spend the day with Florida Straits Sportfishing and find out what the fishing in Key West is all about! With Captain Kiah at the helm, you'll benefit from years of knowledge and experience.
Around here it's common to catch Yellowtail Snapper, Mutton Snapper, Mahi Mahi, Black Grouper, Red Grouper, Sailfish, Wahoo, Bull Shark, Tarpon, Jack Crevalle, Blue Marlin, and more, depending on the time of year. During the trip you might be spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Kiah can also have you kite fishing.
Florida Straits Sportfishing welcomes kids aboard, so feel free to make a family day out of it! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Feel free to bring your own snacks to ward off any mid-trip fatigue!
You'll be dropping lines from a 32' SeaVee center console that holds up to 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, and all the essentials. Rods, reels, and tackle are ready for you, as well as lures. Live bait is on offer, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
It's recommended to bring a hat, sunglasses, bottled water, and sunscreen (non-spray). There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
