I am Nicola, a registered fly fishing guide member of the Italian Professional Fishing Guide Association (AIGUPP) and Casting Instructor of Fly Fishers International.
I have been fly fishing for 30 years, and specialize in fishing the waters around Prato, Florence and Appenino Tosco Romagnolo. I invite you along for a trip to remember.
Here you'll have access to remote small creeks and lake waters, including some spots that only the locals know about, and a part of Tuscany that a tourist alone would never see. I also have access to some of the most famous waters in Italy such as the Tailwaters.
You may need to bring your own gear for this trip or rent some for an extra fee. Contact Nicola ahead of time so you know what to expect and come prepared.
Around here it's common to catch Brown Trout, Largemouth Bass, and more, depending on when you go.
For Black Bass as many as one people are welcome on these excursions it is possible to fish in a belly boat.
For Brown Trout as many as 2 people are welcome on these excursions. You'll be fishing without a boat, so expect to make your way on foot at least part of the time and come dressed for current weather conditions.
Expect to get in touch with Nicola before the trip so you know where to meet and how to get there.
Everyone in your group should buy a local fishing license ahead of time. You can find out more online, including exceptions that may apply. Layered clothing and appropriate footwear are always encouraged (if you aren't sure what that means, just ask). It's never a bad idea to bring bottled water, sunblock, and sunglasses, no matter the weather.
Nicola will have some snacks for you. Children are welcome to come along. Get in touch to find out if Nicola has child-sized life vests you can borrow, or bring your own.
