Lake Trout, and more can be found in these waters all year long. On these trips, it’s common to troll using light tackle.
Families making a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. And, you can't go wrong with snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty stomach!
Capt. Scott operates a 31' Defiance sportfishing boat with space for 6 passengers. It comes with downriggers, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with lures. Live bait is included, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
Before coming aboard, you'll need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
A few items to bring include sunblock (non-spray), a hat, and sunglasses. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Amazing and affordable experience
This was our first charter fishing trip and we had a blast! Captain Scott was very knowledgeable and experienced! Very personable and so helpful. We learned tons of tips and used his knowledge to catch so many fish! The cabin is nice and warm with a little restroom. Everything was provided to us, all we needed was our food and drinks. He cleaned our catch and we will be going back in July/August to catch the kinoke salmon! I recommend you book with him because you’ll have an incredible experience. His charter was very affordable and we loved it! I suggest you take a sweater for chilly mornings and shoes that you don’t mind getting wet. Book with him and you’ll catch fish!

Captain Scott is THE BEST guide EVER
Came to Tahoe for a family trip 10 years ago on vacation. My grandsons were 9 and 13. They are now 20 and 23. Captain Scott called the night before our scheduled trip and offered to pick us up in Tahoe City saving us four hours of travel time. We went out on a perfect day with a perfect boat and Captain. I ,my son and grandsons had an unforgettable day of excellent fishing and making memories. What a considerate, kind, friendly absolute professional. He knows his stuff and goes out of his way to ensure EVERYONE has a great time.We couldn't get them in the boat fast enough!! If my health allows us to return to Tahoe he is THE FIRST call we will make. Not only is he an absolute professional, after a day on the water with him you have a new friend. Thank You Captain Scott!

Amazing Experience!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had an incredible fishing excursion at Lake Tahoe! From start to finish, it was a five-star experience. The captain was absolutely amazing—knowledgeable, friendly, and made sure everyone was having a great time. We caught plenty of fish and enjoyed every moment out on the water. Incredible day of fishing!
Took a trip with some of my siblings and booked with Captain Scott for the morning slot. The water was calm and the ride out to North Lake Tahoe was beautiful! After a slow start, Captain Scott put us on the fish and it turned out to be his “best day of fishing all year!” We had an incredible time and would highly recommend Captain Scott to anyone looking for an awesome experience on an incredible boat with a very professional Captain!

Fishing For Father’s Day!
We had choppy waves heading out to North Lake Tahoe. The weather settled a little and we were all successful catching fish. The Captain, Scotty, did very well negotiating the weather when we returned to Timber Cove. He is careful and constantly in touch with other vessels regarding weather conditions. We booked with Scotty due to his experience and had a great fishing day. Best Father’s Day gift enjoyed by all!
