We had a fabulous time with Captain John of Lil' Hooker Fishing Charters in Murrells Inlet, SC. From the moment we stepped on the boat, Capt. John made us feel welcome, relaxed, and ready for a great day of fishing. He is knowledgeable, personable, and clearly loves what he does. We fished with our 10 year-old son, and Capt. John was fantastic with him. He taught him about caring for the gear, respecting the rules of the water, being mindful of others, and of course all about fishing! We pulled up a sting ray and Capt. John showed my son how to hold it properly to not get hurt and let him touch it before safely releasing it back into the water. Capt. John knew exactly where to find the fish - even though the other boaters we passed were not having luck. We did! Capt. John explained the currents and why the fish were biting where he took us. Capt. John made the experience fun, safe, and stress-free. The boat was clean and well-equipped. Capt. John arrived on time and kept us fishing up to the last minute. He took care of the gear, bait, cleaned the catch for us, and told us how to cook them to perfection. We had a great day - and an even better dinner! We had a great day with Capt. John. Took my buddy out for a 2 hour fishing adventure in Murrell's inlet creek. Not trying to fill up the live well on this trip, just relax and catch a bunch of fish. Captain John got the vibe and put over a nice variety of fish. Pig fish, croakers, pig fish, sea bass, lizard fish and even a 14" weakie (we threw him back to live another day). Boat is clean as a whistle and spanking new...Captain John hosted a great morning on the creek for me a my friend...highly recommend Captain John!

My boys and I had a fantastic time with Captain John. He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Provided us extra time to make sure we were able to reel in a big fish, which we did! This was our first time doing a fishing charter and fishing on the ocean Captain made sure it was one to remember! We also almost caught a shark but it bit through the line! If you are looking for a private charter this is definitely one to pick! I highly recommend. Remember to bring some drinks with you as we forgot and Captain graciously provided us a few cold drinks from his own cooler. Thanks again for the great memories!

Oh my gosh this was the experience of a lifetime. I had the absolute best time with my friends and my husband!! You can NOT got wrong with Captain John!! He was such a vibe and so much fun!! I highly recommend him! One thing I really loved about the experience was if you couldn’t catch any fish he already had one ready to reel in so no one felt left out! Highly recommend him for your captain!!

We went on a charter with captain John 8-27-25 and the weather and the water temperature were both playing against us but captain John knew exactly where to go to put us on fish! We had an amazing experience and would highly recommend to anyone looking to go out and catch as much as possible!
