Captain Dave operates a 23' Hanson center console, ready to take you on an exciting journey through Southwest Florida's pristine waters. Whether you're looking to fish, go shelling, or simply explore the breathtaking scenery, Captain Dave is eager to help you plan a day you'll never forget. Kids are absolutely welcome!
The charter boat covers your fishing license, rods, reels, tackle and fish cooler. Captain will fillet fish upon completion of charter.
A few items to bring include sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat. Captain Dave provides ice, water and extra cooler space for food & drinks. Alcohol is allowed.
Pickup location is subject to change depending on the type of charter or customer needs. Captain Dave is able to pickup from many different locations to include Boca Grande, Sanibel, Captiva, Pine Island, Matlacha, Fort Myers Beach, Port Charlotte, Cape Coral and Punta Gorda.

Here’s a polished review you can post: Captain Dave was absolutely fantastic! I made a last-second booking request, and he went out of his way to make it happen. From the moment we got on the boat, he made sure our family had an unforgettable day. We caught a ton of fish, got to see a bunch of dolphins up close, and even stopped at an island to do some shelling. It was the perfect mix of fishing and sightseeing. What really stood out was how great Captain Dave was with our kids. He was incredibly patient, encouraging, and made sure they were having fun the entire trip. You can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does and cares about giving families a great experience. If you’re looking for an amazing charter, I can’t recommend Captain Dave enough. We made memories we’ll never forget, and we’ll definitely be booking with him again the next time we’re in the area!

We had an incredible time on our four-hour inshore trip with Captain David! From the moment we set sail, we quickly started reeling in trout, and then we moved on to snook, which we caught and released. Captain David's extensive knowledge of both the fish and the history of the surrounding islands added an enriching layer to our adventure. We wrapped up our trip by landing a total of 11 trout, ensuring we left with not just a great catch but also a fantastic dinner. Captain David provided everything we needed: fresh water, a well-iced cooler, all the bait, and top-notch fishing equipment. He was exceptionally accommodating, ensuring that everyone in our family always had a line in the water. Thanks to Captain David, we left with not only a delicious meal but also cherished memories that will last a lifetime. We can't recommend Rusty Dog Charters enough!

Went out for an afternoon trip with the wife and kids today and Capt. Dave and us both knew there was weather coming but decided to give it a go anyway and boy what an awesome trip we had. Lots of snook a redfish and trout also. Both our boys had a blast and caught non stop and Capt Dave was very patient and educational with them. Would highly recommend and next time we come down will definitely be booking with him again.
We had the unbelievable pleasure to fish with Captain David on 31 March! It was non stop excitement for our group of 4. The boat was a perfect platform for our onshore trip. Our Captain was everything that we could ask for for our trip!Punctual, prepared, informative, funny, and extremely knowledgeable about this wonderful fishery! We had a great trip and caught a bunch of snook and trout!! He works hard to make sure you find the fish willing to bite even when the weather isn't perfect. Very knowledgeable captain and great for all skill levels. Would highly recommend you book a trip with Captain Dave, you wont be dissapointed!!
