The fish in these waters include Striped Bass, Bluefish, Skipjack, Cobia, Flounder, Atlantic Mackerel, Scup (Porgy), Black Seabass, Shad, Thresher Shark, Tautog, Yellowfin Tuna, and more, depending on when you go.
On these trips, you can expect to live line, throw artificials and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. Capt. Bill also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear. For the more adventurous among you, there's spearfishing.
Families making a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Also remember to bring snacks to stay fueled throughout your trip!
Capt. Bill welcomes you aboard a 23' KenCraft center console with space for 3-4 passengers. It has all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Live bait is on offer, but you should ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
You can't go wrong when you bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be some light snacks included on board.

Windmill Mix-Bonito/Albies/Seabass on September 12, 2026 • 1 adultThere are outfits that merely take you for a boat ride, and then there is Fishbone Charters, who knows how to strike an honest bargain with the Atlantic. Captain Bill and I had ourselves a thoroughly fine day out on the water. We brought plenty of stubborn bonito and blues over the rail, and spent a good stretch with our hearts in our throats watching tuna glide across the scope like phantom freight trains. To keep us properly humble, a gorgeous green-tailed mahi trailed my lure clear to the wash, putting on a grand flirtation before exercising considerably better judgment than I usually possess and slipping back into the deep. Fishbone put us right where we needed to be and treated us like old friends rather than cargo. By evening, that morning's bonito had been transformed into pristine sashimi at a high-end Chinese banquet in the West Village, where good friends, cold drinks, and salt-stained stories capped off a flawless day. You cannot purchase a fish’s cooperation, but you can certainly hire a guide who puts you in the way of good fortune. A first-rate trip from start to finish.
