Make an adventure out of your next trip in Charleston and go fishing with Island Boys Outdoor Adventures.
Depending on the season, you might hook into Redfish, Spadefish, Speckled Trout, Cobia, Sharks, Sheepshead, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Gag Grouper, Flounder, Black Drum, Tarpon, Amberjack, and who knows what else! On these trips, it's common to use floats, artificial lures and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
Children are welcome, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, we have several on board. Food and Snacks are not included. We will have ice and plenty of bottled water.
Your adventure begins aboard The Finnatic, a 24' Sea Fox center console that holds up to 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, and all the essentials. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures. Live bait is almost always the number one option. Some trips we will have already in the livewell when you board the Finnatic. Other trips we will be catching the bait before we fish.
Sometimes There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 20% tip is customary.
There's no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.
Don't forget to bring sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Go ahead and treat yourself to a day on the water with Island Boys Outdoor Adventures.

Captain Art is the real deal. We do a couple of charters a year and have had plenty of hit-or-miss experiences with other guides, but Art nails it every single time — the reels were zinging all day long! What sets him apart is his deep local knowledge. He grew up here and knows the rivers and offshore spots better than anyone, and he’s incredibly generous with tips and tricks. His love for the water really shows. He was also great with our kids — patient, fun, and made sure everyone stayed engaged. One of our favorite parts of the trip was hearing about his work in ocean conservation. He tags fish and works with DNR and other agencies to help protect our local ecosystem, which made it clear he genuinely cares about these waters beyond just putting fish in the boat. We’ll absolutely be booking with Captain Art again. Highly recommend if you want a guide who actually delivers.

It was a pleasure to have yall onboard! You guys put on a clinic! I would say those fish didnt have a chance but they did win their share of battles 😂 i had a wonderful day with you and your family 🙏 thanks again for booking with us

I've been on numerous trips in different countries and this was one of my favorite trips. Captain Art was very knowledgeable and was really good with kids. We caught so many fish and had a great time. I'm going to recommend him on my future business and personal trips.

It was a pleasure to have your son and dad on The Finnatic! Thank you so much for booking with us. Im looking forward to our next adventure!
Such a great trip. Caught Red Bull Drum fish, toad fish, and sharks. Walking around on one of the island's and found lots of shark teeth. The kids loves seeing hermit crabs and turtles and blue crabs while walking on the island.

Hi! I'm Captain Art Brown, born and raised on Sullivans Island, South Carolina. I've grown up in a family of fisherman. When I was young, my grandfather had the public fishing pier on Isle of Palms. I spent the majority of my free time fishing on that pier, the beach or in the creeks. When I was a teenager, I was given the opportunity to fish on a long liner. We targeted swordfish and tuna. Sometimes we would stay out up to two weeks at a time. After that, I started working on Charter Boats. We targeted Marlin sailfish, tuna, Wahoo, and mahi-mahi. I've been taking people fishing all my life. In 2023 inspired by my son Finn I decided to get a captains license. When he isn't in school, sometimes he works on the boat as my first mate. We would love to take you fishing
