Baxter's Guided Fishing
If fishing in Lake Stevens is on your bucket list, look no further than Baxter's Guided Fishing. With Captain James at the helm, you'll benefit from years of knowledge and experience.
Around here it's common to catch Cutthroat Trout, Coho Salmon, Rainbow Trout (Steelhead), Sockeye Salmon, Yellow Perch, Sturgeon, Pink Salmon, Chinook Salmon, Chum Salmon, and more, depending on conditions. During the trip you might be spinning, trolling, jigging, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Also remember to bring snacks to ward off any mid-trip fatigue!
You'll be dropping lines from a 24' Alumaweld fishing boat with room for 6 passengers. It comes with downriggers, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Rods, reels, and tackle are provided, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
Before coming aboard, you'll need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
It's recommended to bring sunglasses, bottled water, and sunblock (non-spray). If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

8 Hour Trip – Winter Combo
Fish with Baxter!
I've had the opportunity to fish with Baxter's Guided Fishing several times. His knowledge and skills will put you on fish time and time again. Better yet, he makes sure it's fun. In fact, of all the fishing guides I've been with, James is the only repeat I've used. We have fished in 25 degrees, sideways rain, and blazing sun. Every time it was an incredible experience. He is the guy who not only catches fish from a puddle, he limits from the puddle. He will teach you how to do it too! If you want to learn a new method, or just go for fun, Baxters is the guide to choose.

Full day Hanford trip
We spent the day with James on his boat with my buddy and our 3 year old son. It was our son’s 1st guided trip and we had an absolute blast. Baxter was very patient with Drake and let him help out with everything on the boat. My wife was hesitant on letting him go but Baxter said he enjoyed having kids on the boat and to bring him along. 8 Hour Trip – Summer Sockeye
2023 and 2024 sockeye
I’ve gone the last 2 years. First year we we spent a few hours to get out 2 limits (my wife and myself). Amazed at how well he is at doing his job between all the other boats and me losing too many fish. 2nd year we went out with him and I brought my wife and 2 kids and got our limits faster than our drove from over the pass. He showed me so much and has given me the confidence to try it on my own this next year. He has been great with giving me gear suggestions and helping me with my bait set up this spring.
