If you're ready to enjoy fishing in Key West, book a trip with Mutton To It Sportfishing. Having 10+ years fishing the lower keys, with 200+ days on the water a year, Captain Sam is always dialed in to put you on fish.
Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Dolphin (Mahi Mahi), Swordfish, Black Grouper, Cobia, Cero Mackerel, Cubera Snapper, Snowy Grouper, Amberjack, African Pompano, Yellowtail Snapper, Red Grouper, Great Barracuda, and whatever else is biting.
On these trips, it’s common to drift, troll, and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle, and it's often with live bait. Capt. Sam also offers kite fishing when the conditions are favorable for it.
Mutton To It Sportfishing welcomes kids aboard, so get 'em offline and onto the water! Child-sized life vests are readily available, otherwise you can bring your own. Snacks and drinks are permitted onboard — bring your favorites to stay fueled throughout your trip! (No glass bottles, please)
You'll be casting lines from a 35' Center console that holds up to 6 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, a fighting chair, any and all of the essentials. There's also a toilet on board for your convenience.
Rods, reels, and tackle are provided, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but it's good to know, most of the time, you will be catching it yourself.
There's no need to buy a fishing license, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
It's always a good idea to bring sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray), bottled water, and a hat. Extra drinks, and a large cooler with ice will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
