Black Stream Outfitters is here to help you experience the stunning waters of Belfast.
Depending on conditions, you might hook into Striped Bass, Haddock, and anything else that bites. On the day of your trip you're likely to troll tube and worm for Striped Bass or catch livebait and use the bait you caught to go for the Stripers!
Capt. Jared believes in teaching kids to fish while they're young, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. And, you can't go wrong with snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty stomach!
Your fishing machine for the day is a 24' aluminum fishing boat with capacity for 6 passengers. It comes with all the essentials. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with lures. Live bait is included, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
It's recommended to bring bottled water, sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is not allowed.

We started an hour early and then the captain kept us out longer so we got 5 hours for a 4 hour trip. We first caught mackerel bait fish which was a lot of fun, then used those to bait for stripers. We ended up catching two stripers about 36" each. Our kids had fun with the small and large fish. The captain knew good spots to go. The boat was basic but it worked just fine for this trip. We would do this again.

4 Hour Trip – Saltwater Fishing on August 5, 2026 • 6 adultsTook a family trip to Maine and added charter fishing using Black Creek Outfitters. Captain Austin was early as were we. The views were great, however fishing was terrible. Two of the 6 of us spent over an hour trying to snag bait fish to start the trip. While doing that, I asked what the back up plan was if we did not catch bait fish and he said he had some bait fish, just not much. Was very disappointing wasting all that time trying to snag bait fish. We all want to catch fish, or at least attempt to catch fish. Austin was personable, but we felt like the “guide” part of the trip was missing. Did some trolling to try and catch Stripers, but no luck. Moved locations and tryed snagging baitfish again! Super disappointing! Never had any bites other than a few mackeral on a jigging rod, but that’s not what we wanted to fish for. The money spent on the charter would have been better spent going out for a nice fish dinner! The only plus was it was a beautiful day to be on the water. To add to it, our trip location was changed from Blue Hill to Belfast for hopefully better fishing, but it was obviously didn’t change things. The change in locations added another 30 minutes for us to get there.
