There's so much that Lake Michigan's fishery has to offer, and if you're looking for a charter to show you to the best fishing grounds, Our Reel Heroes Charters is at your disposal! Team up with Captain Brian Standen who will put his 30 years of experience to use and make sure you have a productive fishing expedition.
Salmon fishing in Lake Michigan has been nothing short of superb in the previous years, and your guide has even caught 30 pounders in these waters. Chinook and Coho are abundant here, as well as hard-fighting Steelhead, and Lake Trout.
Your captain will provide quality Okuma gear and lures, and he'll also clean and fillet the catch for you after the trip. The first mate will be there to assist you with everything, and if you're happy with his work, tips are always appreciated.
Your fishing platform and ride for the day is a spacious 31' Tiara sport fisher with twin 350 HP 454 engines. The boat is a lean fishing machine with plenty of room for up to 6 people to fight their fish at the same time. On board, there's a cabin with a kitchen, a resting area, and a private toilet, so your trip will be comfortable in every way.
Veterans get a 10% discount on all trips with Capt. Brian and a part of the proceeds will go to taking families of fallen soldiers on fishing trips.
Coming with your little ones? No problem, as long as they're age 6 and older. Your guide will have life jackets for the whole group, but you can bring your own fitted ones for the kids if you prefer.
A fishing license is a must on these trips, as well as snacks, drinks, sunscreen during the summer, and rain gear in colder months.

Had a great time best weather we caught a lot of fish captain and crew were the best can’t wait to return and do it again
I have chartered boats in several places up and down the Mexican and central American coasts. "Our Reel Heroes" is easily one of the nicest boats that I have been on, and some I have chartered have been more than double the going rate of ORH. Capt' Brian has fully outfitted his boat with top of the line accessories and gear. The boat is very roomy and comfortable. Capt Brian and Gabe were quite personable, engaging, and enjoyable to be around. Unfortunately, despite their hustling/hard work/and adjustments in location and presentation we only managed 1 small steelhead for the day. However, the caveat is basically nobody was catching fish that day, Brian was in constant contact with all the other boats in the area and it was just one of those painfully slow days on the water. Fishing is fishing, and you can't force the fish to cooperate. That said, even by not catching fish you can still learn :)

Captain Brian made our first family fishing trip amazing. Getting us on the fish and being patient with a group of novice anglers. We ended the day with 20 nice fish including a 19 lbs. 35 inch Lake Trout! We will definitely be booking another trip in the future. Thanks Captain Brian!
Even with the heavy fog and never ending rain. We had a stellar day out for sure. Everyone did a awesome job getting the fish in! Let Oliver know I have his fish measurements and photos for his master angler award. Looking forward to the next trip.
Captain Brian and First Mate Chris provided my family with a trip we will always remember. All of us had the chance to land very nice King Salmon. They all gave a good fight. I think we’ll be doing this again! Thank you so much Brian and Chris!
Had a great afternoon/evening fishing with Our Reel Heroes Charter. Captain Brian and 1st Mate Chris are both 1st rate. Worked so hard to get us on the fish. It was a great experience all the way around, both fishing Lake Michigan and catching our first King salmon as well as meeting Brian and Chris . My family and I will definitely be coming back to do this again with Captain Brian .
