Grew up on the small island of Marco. I began fishing as a kid and got my own boat when I was 15. I started going fishing after school and on the weekend with my buddies. I fell in love with the backcountry and the abundance of fish that you can catch. After many years of fishing, I decided to start my own charter business to show people what I have learned over the years. Book a trip today and see what fishing around Marco is all about

Fishing with Captain John was great!!!  The rods were continuously bent.  Our party included 3 generations of our family and he accommodated us all.  We even had a shark bite at one point. (high on 8 1/2 year olds list) it was not landed, but can’t blame that on the captain he put us on the fish.  We caught speckled trout, ladyfish, jacks and catfish. We highly recommend Southbound Fishing Charters.

Captain John Was Very Good To Answer All My Questions, Knows What Spots To Fish And The Tides, I Caught Several Fish But The Most Exciting Was Catching My Very First Red Fish Man What A Fight I Had On My Hands, I Caught My Dream Fish With Captain Johns Help, Then You Always Have The One That Gets Away I Hooked Into A Fish We Never Got To See, It But John Turned The Boat Around To Go After It And It Was Dragging His Boat And Its Not A Small Boat Either, The Fish Turned To Big Water And Shook Out The Hook. But That’s Why Its Called Fishing Not Catching I Had A Blast Hope To Go Again Next Year.

Great experience!  Asked John to target big fish and he delivered .  We were unable to land two big jewfish, however I’ll never forget this experience. Great fun targeting snapper to.  Can’t wait to go out and get another shot at those big ones. Many thanks to John.

Cold and windy trout fishing

March 18, 2017

Took some people out from Ohio today. They had a blast especially the twins. It was windy and cold this morning but we managed to keep the rods bending all day and we missed a nice shark. Read Full Report →
