The fish in these waters include Lake Trout, Rainbow Trout (Steelhead), Yellow Perch, Walleye, and more, depending on when you go. For these species, you're likely to troll using Medium tackle.
Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome. Please let the Captain know age and weight so we are sure to have the appropriate size of life jackets available on board. Also remember to bring snacks so that everyone stays happy and energized!
Your fishing machine for the day is a 26' Hewescraft pilothouse that holds up to 6 paying passengers. It has downriggers, and everything you need for a productive day on the water. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Capt. Sean will provide all fishing gear you will need.
There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
Before coming aboard, it will be required to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain.
Some essentials to bring are sunscreen (non-spray), sunglasses, Drinks and snacks.There will be bottled water aboard for anyone.

Sean with Waymaker was absolutely wonderful to work with! My husband and I had such an amazing experience from start to finish. He was incredibly patient with us and made sure we had a great time the entire trip. We didn’t even make it out of the parking lot before we were already looking at dates to book another trip with him! Sean knew exactly where the best fishing spots were and worked with us around the weather to make sure we had the best experience possible. He also took the time to answer our many questions—not only about fishing, but about the boat and all the fishing terms and vocabulary we weren’t familiar with. He never made us feel rushed or silly for asking questions. What really stood out was how personable he was. We didn’t just feel like customers on a charter—we genuinely enjoyed getting to know him. We spent time talking about our families, hobbies, and jobs, which made the whole trip feel relaxed and enjoyable. It felt more like spending the day fishing with a friend than simply booking a trip. I booked this trip as a surprise for my husband for Father’s Day. We had a great time. We caught our limit on Walleye. We couldn’t of asked for a better day! Sean and Rene (1st mate) were fantastic. Did not make it feel like they were running a business. It felt like a group of friends out on the lake. They were so willing to explain everything and how the rigs worked. The fact that we limited out surprised us. Just did not know what to expect. Definitely recommend them if you want to have a great time and feel like your fishing with friends.

Would 100% recommend. The conditions were choppy with 3-4 ft swells but Sean had us on fish within 10 minutes of the first line in the water. With the help of first mate Rene, we had our 2 man limit within 4 hours. A amazing, affordable, experience with Waymaker Fishing Charters!!

Captain Sean Cralley, I have been fishing Lake Erie for 32 years. We run trips out of Lampe Marina Erie Pa, aboard a 27' Hewescraft Aluminum fishing boat. Using trolling and other techniques, you'll have a chance to catch Steelhead, Lake Trout, Walleye and Perch We clean and bag your catch. The only way to learn is to join us on the water. My mom who has since passed, was my greatest inspiration for me to become a Charter boat Captain. Her dream was to always be a Charter boat Captain.
