If you're here to make the most of fishing in Goodland, look no further than Sunset Tide Charters. Captain Mike will be your guide, giving you access to their sportfishing experience.
These waters hold game fish like Tarpon, Permit and more. We fish Tarpon 365 days a year in the 10,000 Islands and Everglades. Any day could be the best day of the year because it is the perfect pass through spot for these migrating fish.
You can expect to be casting artificial baits most of the day and will cutbait fish if the Tarpon are in a passive mood.
Fishing on these trips is limited to catch and release for Tarpon. Capt. Mike can even clean your catch if we catch something that is desirable to eat.
Sunset Tide Charters welcomes kids aboard, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Snacks are never a bad idea to stay fueled throughout your trip!
Your vessel for the day is a 24' Skeeter bay boat with room for 3 passengers. It comes with all the essentials. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
It's never a bad idea to bring sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). There will be water and ice on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own drinks. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Goodland, Florida, United States
Captain Mike Vorderstrasse has spent a lifetime on the water, driven by a true passion for fishing and the outdoors. He grew up in Nebraska chasing largemouth bass on lakes and farm ponds before moving to Colorado, where he competed in walleye tournaments across the Midwest and spent countless hours trout fishing the Rocky Mountains. Those years taught him patience, precision, and a love for the challenge of connecting with fish in every condition imaginable. Today, Captain Mike calls Southwest Florida home, where he operates tarpon fishing charters in the 10,000 Islands and Everglades. Specializing exclusively in tarpon, he focuses on sight fishing and lure presentations that put anglers right in the action. Whether you're looking for a world-class tarpon experience near Marco Island, Everglades City, or the backcountry waters of the Gulf, Captain Mike delivers an unforgettable day chasing the Silver King. Beyond fishing, what truly sets Captain Mike apart is his genuine love for people. He enjoys sharing stories, teaching techniques, and helping others experience the thrill of watching a tarpon explode on the line. Whether you're a seasoned angler or it's your first trip, you'll find his enthusiasm and dedication make every charter a memorable adventure.
