These waters are known for Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Sheepshead, Black Drum, Cobia, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Red Snapper, Blacktip Shark, Bonnethead Shark, Hammerhead Shark, Spanish Mackerel, and more – with any luck, you'll find out for yourself! During the trip you might be spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Snacks are permitted onboard — bring your favorites to maintain your energy throughout the trip!
You'll be welcome aboard a 26' Robalo center console that holds up to 6 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures. Live bait is available, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
You will need to buy a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
It's recommended to bring sunblock (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

If you are looking for an incredible fishing experience, book with Capt. John! He was an absolute professional and a fantastic guide who helped us every step of the way. His expertise really showed, and he made sure everyone on board had a great time and learned a lot. The highlight of our trip was catching two massive sharks, both around 5 feet long! It was an absolute thrill, and we couldn't have done it without his guidance. 10/10 highly recommend Capt. John—we will definitely be fishing with him again!

This trip was everything I was wishing for and more. My three older kids and myself attended. Captian John took us to multiple spots. Along with an awesome fishing experience we caught the sunrise, saw dolphins and played music through his bluetooth device. He was super knowledgeable and helpful throughout the trip. We all had the best time and created memories we will never forget! He was even accommodating to all our picture taking. Great stressfree experience. We plan to come back this summer time!

He made sure everyone was comfortable, answered questions, and gave tips that were useful but not condescending, which helped us have a successful and fun day on the water. We really enjoyed our time and would definitely recommend fishing with if your looking for s relaxed and enjoyable charters experience!

John Lozano was our captain and did a great job putting us on fish immediately at the north jetty. My wife and I caught a good variety of fish during the trip. John was knowledgeable and was also friendly and very helpful. We would highly recommend Only Chance Charters and John, specifically. Looking forward to our next trip to Galveston and will definitely try to use him again.

Had a GREAT day of fishing! As the title says, the 1st fish hooked at about 7:25 got away. My buddy was fighting it for a good 12 - 15 minutes. But we kept casting and pulled in some nice Sheepshead (2), Drum (2), a Speck! We had to throw back a Red Snapper (not in the slot), Stingray (2), Drum (1), A Gaffhead. Capt. John took care of us all day!!
Had a geat time with you guys. Cant wait to do it again! Thank you!
