Whittier Small Boat Harbor
Whittier, AK, United States

If you're ready to have fun fishing in Whittier, Alaska, we've got you covered with Saltwater Excursions. Having logged decades on these waters, Captain Kristen knows them forwards and backwards.

Why go far when adventure is just around the corner? Prince William Sound is only one hour from Anchorage! Experience stunning glacier-capped mountains and abundant wildlife while enjoying world-class fishing in Alaska's bountiful waters.

These waters are known for Halibut, Salmon, Rockfish, Lingcod, and more – with any luck, it won't take long to hook into something incredible!

Your Ultimate Fishing Vessel Awaits! We operate out of the Whittier Small Boat Harbor, the closest port to Anchorage, ensuring easy access to breathtaking Prince William Sound. Our fleet includes a 31-foot SeaHawk NorthRiver and a 26-foot Offshore Duckworth, both equipped with twin engines and state-of-the-art Garmin electronics along with top notch fishing rods, reels, line and tackle.

You must purchase a fishing license before the morning of your charter in order to fish. You can purchase these online at the Alaska Department of Fish and Game website. King Salmon and Halibut require a special stamp. Halibut stamps (new to 2026) will be available the morning of your charter for $20, cash only, paid directly to Saltwater Excursions, LLC.

Make sure you bring your fishing license, warm clothes, rain gear (tops and bottoms), sunglasses, sunscreen, waterproof footwear, medications, food and drink for the day, cash tip for the deckhand and captain, good vibes, good fishing mojo and a sense of humor.

Deckhands work for tips and provide full-day (10 -11 hours) support. A standard tip is approximately $100 per person or 20% of your charter price.

Travel insurance recommended.

Due to significant increases in operating costs this season, we are implementing a fuel surcharge and complying with new federal halibut regulations. Our goal is to remain transparent, fair, and committed to providing
