Key West has a fish with your name on it, family fishing is our specialty. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Barry can tell you all about the local fishery.
These waters are known for Amberjack, Great Barracuda, Black Grouper, Red Grouper, Cero Mackerel, Cobia, Snowy Grouper, Hogfish, Jack Crevalle, Lionfish, Ray, and more – with any luck, you'll hook into a few!
If you're traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. And, you can't go wrong with snacks so that everyone stays happy and energized!
You'll be dropping lines from a 42' Hatteras sport fishing vessel with capacity for 6 passengers. It has everything you need for a productive day on the water. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. What's more, this vessel is wheelchair accessible and air conditioned. Capt. Barry will provide rods and reels for you. Live bait is available, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
You'll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. It's customary to tip the Mate 20% to show your appreciation.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.
It's recommended to bring sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray), and bottled water. Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
