The UnReel Experience
If fishing in Watamu is on your bucket list, look no further than UnReel. Captain Rob is one of the most experienced skippers on the coast.
Black Marlin, Striped Marlin, Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Giant Trevally, Yellowfin Tuna, Skipjack Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Barracuda, and more are on the cards, depending on when you go. Depending on the species you're after, you may find yourself light tackle fishing, popping, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt, Rob also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.
Fishing on these trips is not limited to catch and release, but UnReel tries to put all Billfish and Trevallies back. Although any fish caught belongs to the boat, UnReel is always happy to let the client's take some home to enjoy. They will organize catch cleaning.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! Also remember to bring snacks so that nobody gets cranky on an empty stomach! They supply some cool water and sodas on board.
You'll step aboard a 33' Blackfin with space for 4 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, a fighting chair, and all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
The charter boat is fully insured and licensed, just show up ready for some fishing! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.
It's always wise to bring sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen, bottled water and food. Depending on the season, you may also need a raincoat!
