Tyche Charters
There's a fish with your name on it in Key West and Tyche Charters will help you catch it! What does the name Tyche mean, It is the greek goddess of luck, and who doesn't want to have a little extra luck when out fishing. Having logged over 35 years on the waters of Key West running charter, Captain Mike knows them forwards and back.
The fish in these waters include Amberjack, Great Barracuda, Skipjack, Cero Mackerel, Black Grouper, Red Grouper, Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Blacktip Shark, Mangrove Snapper, Tarpon, Blackfin Tuna, and more with any luck. You'll target your catch by spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Mike can also show you kite fishing.
Young ones are welcome, so go ahead and bring the whole family along! Snacks are also a good idea for a boost of energy when needed!
Capt. Mike will bring you aboard a 42' sportfishing vessel that can carry up to 10 passengers. It comes with outriggers, downriggers, a fighting chair, everything you need for a productive day on the water. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Live bait is included, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 15-20% tip is customary.
There's no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for a good time! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.
You can't go wrong when you bring sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray), bottled water, and a hat. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Now and then the fish might get away, but a day on the water never should. Time to make it happen, with Tyche Charters.

Our capitans were incredibly efficient with loading up, restringing lines. instructing us where to fish. allowing us plenty of time to have lines in the water. they really made the trip. we caught loads of yellow tail at the reef. The capitans also made us a reservation at Kayas in key west where they cooked our fish we caught! incredible experience would absolutely do it again!

Started the day trolling, it was a little slow so they brought us to a reef and got us on fish, recommeded a local restaurant who could cook our catch and even made us reservations! Brandon and Danny were absolutely incredible as Captain and mate! We caught a ton of fish and the crew was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I loved how they explained everything we were doing and why. They really took the time to teach and communicate, which only enhanced the experience. I would recommend this outfit to anyone looking to catch some fish and learn along the way. Great experience for our entire group!

Im so glad you had fun and enjoyed the trip. Hope we see ya again soon
We had a great trip with Captain Brandon and Max! We went offshore and caught dolphin, jack, and bonito. The boat was super comfortable, had plenty of shade, and a bathroom. Definitely recommend booking a trip on the Tyche.

Capt. Mike comes from a family of anglers – he started fishing the waters around New Jersey at the age of 5, on board his dad's charter boat. They competed in tournaments together, and shared a true passion for angling. At the age of 7, he caught his very own Sailfish out of Islamorada, and told his dad that someday he would fish the Florida Keys for a living. How right he was! Over 28 years ago, Capt. Mike moved to Key West and started chartering his own light tackle boat. Soon after, he purchased a 52' custom-built vessel and began running offshore adventures. He decided that he preferred having a more personal relationship with his customers than this offered, so he returned to light tackle and sight fishing, his true love. He's developed his own style of angling that offers guests a truly hands-on experience – they hook their own fish, cast their own baits, and learn to tie knots on their own. The look on a customer's face when they reel in a fish is the best part!
