Capt. Mike comes from a family of anglers – he started fishing the waters around New Jersey at the age of 5, on board his dad's charter boat. They competed in tournaments together, and shared a true passion for angling. At the age of 7, he caught his very own Sailfish out of Islamorada, and told his dad that someday he would fish the Florida Keys for a living. How right he was! Over 28 years ago, Capt. Mike moved to Key West and started chartering his own light tackle boat. Soon after, he purchased a 52' custom-built vessel and began running offshore adventures. He decided that he preferred having a more personal relationship with his customers than this offered, so he returned to light tackle and sight fishing, his true love. He's developed his own style of angling that offers guests a truly hands-on experience – they hook their own fish, cast their own baits, and learn to tie knots on their own. The look on a customer's face when they reel in a fish is the best part!

Full Day Trip • 10 adults • 4 childrenThis is our second charter with Blind Squirrel. We took our 7 children and Grandma and Grandpa on this charter. The kids had a great time. Crew was friendly and put us on fish. The boat is nice with lots of deck space and a cabin for relaxing and preparing snacks. We had a fantastic trip and plan to do it again next year.

Half Day Trip - 2:00 PM • 9 adultsWe booked this fishing charter to celebrate my husband’s 40th birthday with friends, and it was absolutely perfect. Captain Mike and Cole were amazing—so knowledgeable, friendly, and great at making sure everyone was having a fun time, whether you’ve fished before or not. It was our first time fishing in the Keys, and they made the whole experience easy and unforgettable. We caught fish, learned a lot, laughed a ton, and truly had the best time out on the water. As a bonus, they even recommended a great spot afterward to have our fish cooked, which made the day even more special. Could not have asked for a better experience. If you’re considering a fishing charter in the Keys, highly recommend—we’ll definitely be back!

Half Day Trip - 2:00 PM • 8 adultsThose who fish know, some days everything is biting and some days nothing is biting. The weather was amazing, the water was on the calmer side and clear so we could see the fish but that also meant they coukd see the boat and our lines. The crew was amazing at trying everything to get the fish on the lines and giving us options to try. When the reef fishing was an obvious no go, we went to trolling and thanks to the hard work of Captain Brandon, First Mate Cole and Second Mate Daniel my twin boys (15) each caught a fish, including a sailfish on the last cast of the trip just as we were heading in. It was a celebration for the entire boat (family and crew) accompanied by an amazing sunset. I can’t compliment the crew enough. On a rough day with not much biting they never stopped working to get the fish on the line all while being personable and funny. We laughed and had an amazing time out on the water.

8 Hour Trip • 8 adultshad a great full day on the water. Dan and Brandon worked hard to get us ok fish ans helped to educate the kids tbrkughout the day. Started the day trolling, it was a little slow so they brought us to a reef and got us on fish, recommeded a local restaurant who could cook our catch and even made us reservations! Highly recommend this charter and crew. So personable and emgaged throughout the day. Great Job!!

Full Day Trip • 9 adultsBrandon and Danny were fantastic! We caught a couple tuna, a few mackeral and 34 yellow fins! The captain and first mate kept our group of 9 engaged and focused. We caught all of the yellows over the reef and had a blast doing it. If your looking for a lot of action, these guys will put you on it! They also had a lot of great recommendations for restaurants in the area. 5 STAR REVIEW, Definitely recommend!
