Reel Life Fishing Charters is here to help you experience the stunning waters of Rio Hondo. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Dan can tell you all about them.
These waters are known for Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Black Drum, and more – with any luck, it won't take long to hook into some. Depending on the species you're after, you may find yourself light tackle fishing, drifting, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Families making a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Also remember to bring snacks so that everyone stays happy and energized!
You'll be casting lines from a 22' Majek bay boat that holds up to 4 passengers. It comes with all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Rods, reels, and tackle are covered by the charter, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
You will need to buy a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
It's always wise to bring sunglasses, a hat, and sunblock (non-spray). Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Could not have asked for a better day to spend with Capt. Dan and my grandson Eli, catching plenty of fish, having some fun and having some laughs. Capt Dan made the trip worth it. Such a nice guy, I think Eli wants to be a Fishing Guide now. Eli took control of the cooking and fed his parents grilled redfish on the half shell when they came to pick him up. That just sweetened the trip. Thank you sir.

Thank you Ted it was a pleasure fishing with uou and Eli.
I have been fishing the better part of my life on the Laguna Madre. Join me for a fun fishing adventure.
