Captain Jon Mahan Hunting & Fishing
Fishing out of Port O’Connor, Texas, Captain Jon Mahan Hunting & Fishing offers exciting inshore fishing trips for all the family. You’ll be on some of the most productive waters in Texas, fishing the well-known San Antonio Bay and its surrounding inshore waterways. Known for his friendly manner with customers and excellent knowledge of where the fish hide, Capt. Jon will make sure your trip is both enjoyable and productive.
You’ll be casting from a 21’ Shallow Sport center console which, true to its name, can access some of the shallowest of waters to get to where the fish are. With the assistance of a wireless trolling motor, you’ll drift discreetly along the skinny waters, getting right on top of your targeted fish without spooking them. On the open waters, you’ll be powered by a 175 HP Suzuki motor, reaching speeds of up to 35 knots.
Capt. Jon fishes the bays for Redfish, Trout, Flounder, and Black Drum. He provides both live bait and artificial lures to suit all fishing styles, so you’ll get the chance to try out a variety of techniques. Please, have in mind that there is an extra cost for the bait: $22 per quart for shrimp and $12 per dozen for croaker. Rods and reels are provided for all trips except when wade fishing, where you’ll be responsible for all gear, including suitable clothing. All level of angler is welcome aboard and Capt. Jon is more than happy to help you develop your fishing skills. Fish cleaning and packaging is included in the price.
Get ready for your trip by bringing suitable clothing, any food or beverages you might like to consume, and a valid Texas fishing license with a saltwater stamp – then you’re ready to go! Everything else you need will be waiting for you at Capt Jon Mahan Hunting & Fishing. Come on down and get on the water!
