Charter Pontoon Waterway
Book your next trip with Charter Pontoon Waterway and find out what keeps anglers coming back to McHenry for more. With Captain Tim at the helm, you'll have a knowledgeable and experienced guide.
Depending on conditions, you might hook into Smallmouth Bass, Yellow Bass, White Bass, Bluegill, Carp, Catfish, Crappie, Yellow Perch, Northern Pike, Sheepshead, Walleye, and whatever else takes the bait. You'll target your catch by light tackle fishing, jigging, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Also remember to bring snacks to maintain your energy throughout the trip!
You'll be casting lines from a 24' Misty Harbor pontoon boat with capacity for 6 passengers. It comes with everything you need for a productive day on the water. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. What's more, this vessel is wheelchair accessible. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures. Live bait is available, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
Your fishing license for the day is additional but we sell them on the boat, just show up ready for a good time! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.
It's always wise to bring bottled water, sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). If you'd like to bring other drinks, Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid glass bottles.
Charter Pontoon Waterway will make it easy for you to go fishing or just going for a boat ride in McHenry. So, how about booking that trip?

The Angler's Choice Award is given to listings that consistently deliver a high-quality service and earn great reviews from customers.
In the 80's as a kid, I used to watch my dad go fishing along the lakefront and take out boats with his friends. I sometimes got to come with along. As I grew into a teenager, fishing was the last thing on my mind. I became a complete gearhead obsessed with girls and anything with an engine. I worked during high school and had an assortment of jobs. This is where I think I got my bold outgoing personality. I Graduated from Wyoming Tech with an associate's degree in business management and a degree in building race cars and welding. I made it back home buying a house in Schiller Park and I have worked all kinds of jobs. I upgraded to the big lake 'Lake Michigan '' and found where I wanted to be. Coming back to fishing is a great story. I traded a 1954 Chrysler hot-rod for a boat and it came with fishing gear. I never thought I would use the fishing gear, but I did and got addicted to the sport. From there I did many fishing tournaments. I did so well at this, that I then was convinced to get my captain's license and became a fishing captain. After many years learning the charter business I find myself now running my own boat as my full-time job. My hopes and dreams are now to just keep the charter business going. I enjoy meeting many kinds of personalities and keeping the lakefront fun.
