Captain Arnaldo Méndez, with over 20 years of experience and fluent English, knows the waters of the Gulf of Papagayo like the back of his hand. Whether you're an experienced angler or trying fishing for the first time, we'll tailor the trip to your goals and skill level.
We are proud to be one of the most family-friendly fishing charters in the Gulf of Papagayo. Watching children catch their first fish and helping families create unforgettable memories is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do. Our private trips are relaxed, safe, and fun, making them perfect for families, couples, and small groups.
Depending on the season, you may target Roosterfish, Cubera Snapper, Yellowfin Tuna, Mahi-Mahi, Sailfish, Black Marlin, Amberjack, Jack Crevalle, Grouper, and more. We specialize in live bait fishing, topwater poppers, trolling, and bottom fishing, always choosing the technique that offers the best chance of success.
For your convenience, we provide complimentary boat pick-up from selected hotels throughout the Gulf of Papagayo. Our comfortable boat features shade, a private toilet, quality fishing equipment, and everything needed for a safe and enjoyable day on the water.

Landed a striped bonito and a Pacific cubera snapper — both absolute fighters that made me earn every bit of it. 💪🔥 We also hooked into a blue runner that put up a great fight but came off right as we were getting ready to bring it in. The one that got away… but still an awesome battle! Huge shoutout to Captain Arnaldo and his son — outstanding crew. Great conversation, knowledgeable guides, and they made the whole trip smooth, fun, and memorable. Couldn’t have asked for a better first outing. 4 Hour Fishing Charter on July 23, 2026 • 2 adultsWe did a 4 hour morning trip, 3 hours fishing and 1 hour snorkeling. We didn’t have luck trolling so we bottom fished and caught a lot of smaller sized fish like trigger fish, and snapper. snorkeling, we saw sea turtles, and lots of schools of fish. It was great. We took our cat to the monkey bar and had them prepare it for us and they did it perfectly!

The gear was in great condition. The fresh fruit, snacks, and beverages were very nice. Arnaldo and mark are very friendly and helpful while catching fish.

We started off a little slow but Arnaldo and Mark are professional fish whisperers!!! We caught Maui Maui, Bonito and the iciing on the cake was ROOSTER FISH!!! The sanwiches, snacks, fresh fruit, and drinks were yummy! The cool thing about our trip was both Mark and Arnaldo got just as excited as us whencatchig fish!!! Definitely true professionals!!! When we come back to Costa Rica, we definitely will be booking with Arnaldo, Mark, and Esmeralda!!! Pura Vida!!!

Great views of the coast and ok fishing.
6 Hour Fishing Adventure on August 9, 2026 • 2 adultsit was a very windy day and the captain did well navigating the rough water. We stayed close to shore due to the wind, but still caught three roosterfish. Would have been nice to land something else but you have to take what mother nature gives. We did see two sea turtles as well. overall a good day.

You can cancel or modify your booking up to 3 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.
