Southern Fried Charters Scallop Crystal River
Crystal River has well known scalloping fun, so let Southern Fried Charters help you catch it! Having logged many hours on these scallop grounds, Captain Chris is prepared to put you on the Scallops.
Families who love time together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. And, you can't go wrong with snacks to stay fueled throughout your trip!
Capt. Chris welcomes you aboard a 25' Ranger bay boat that can carry up to 8 passengers. It has everything you need for a productive day on the water. There's a toilet on board for your convenience.
SNORKELING GEAR IS NOT PROVIDED. YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN
Cooler for transporting scallops after the trip will be needed. I do not clean scallops!
Before coming aboard, it will be necessary to buy a local fishing license. The Captains license covers 4 people. If you have more than 4 people you must get a FL Saltwater Fishing License. Under 13 and over 65 Florida Residents with FL Drivers License are exempt. Check with FWC to review all requirements. This information is usually available online.
A few items to bring include sunblock (non-spray), bottled water, and sunglasses. Water is included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed ( No glass bottles), don't get stupid please. Smoking's fine too. Just enjoy your time out.

Cap was easy going and easy to get along with. Good communication before the trip. He provided a safe and fun experience for my family.

thanks appreciate you
I grew up in Nashville, TN, before it was cool. As a small kid, we fished every pond and creek within 20 miles of my house, often by horseback. Certainly, it was different times, but my passion for finding fish never changed. Then it was Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass, Rainbow and Brown Trout, along with Crappie and Catfish. As a teenager, I fished on a boat called Honey Chile in Sarasota/Longboat Key, FL. It was there I learned the pursuit of 'big fish.' I knew then when I was old enough, I'd be heading to FL to live and fish. I always wanted to be a professional fisherman and, in the mid 90's began tournament fishing for Kingfish. The adventure took on a life of its own, and by 2012 I started hosting the Southern Sportsman Radio Show in Flagler County and did so for 8 years. Fishing and being a guide is my life, and the real reason I do it, and love it, is to be a special part of other people's memories with family and friends.
