Fish On !!! welcomes you to the stunning waters of southern Lake Michigan. We run single boat trips up to 5 passangers but can organize 2, 3 or more boats to take large groups and company outings to meet your needs just send us a message.
These waters are known for Coho Salmon, Chinook Salmon, Lake Trout, Brown Trout, Steelhead and more – most trips result in multi species being caught.
Children are definately welcome, so feel free to make a family day out of it! And remember to bring your favorite food and drink. Dress warm in layers as most days start out cool even in the summer months.
You'll be fishing aboard a 27' Stamas sportfishing vessel with room for 5 passengers. The boat is fully rigged with downriggers, electronics and over 45 rods ready to go for all situations we will encounter. There's a private enclosed head on board for your convenience as well. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with lures of every shape, size and color you can imagine.
Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. And it's customary to tip the Mate 15–20% of the trip cost to show your appreciation as mates work soley for tips.
You will need to purchase a local fishing license before the trip with an all species/or trout/salmon endorsement. Liscenses should be bought online or at retail sporting goods store prior to arrival.
Don't forget to pack sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. We do have bottled water and lite snacks onboard.
If you plan to take an anti motion med
like Draminine or similar please read the directions as they need to be taken well in advance to be effective.
Now and then the fish might get away or not bite the best but no worries we will make your trip fun and memorable no matter what

My family went fishing with Captain David on September 7, 2026, and we had a fantastic experience! Captain David was very knowledgeable, friendly, and great with the kids. My kids were especially excited to catch several big lake trout and other fish during the trip. We all had a wonderful time and made some great family memories. Worth every penny, and we would definitely recommend Captain David to anyone looking for a fun and memorable fishing charter!

Captain stackhouse and Trenton are definitely experts on this. water and make every effort to ensure their clients have a successful trip.. we limited out in 6 hours with five or six large Chinooks, including one that must have weighed 20 lb, six cohos and five or six long running and high jumping steelhead. My son's first five fish iof his life were two coho, two large steelhead and two King, including the aforementioned largest fish of the day. I should note that I am disabled and have no use of my left arm. David or Trenton had to hold the rod while I reeled in;; They did so enthusiastically and effectively. they're both expert professionals and nice guys to spend the day with.

My sons (ages 11 and 13) and I went out for an afternoon fishing trip with Fish On and enjoyed every minute! The boat and equipment were clean and ready to go. Their expertise and patience helped us to reel in 7 fish (trout and salmon). Afterwards, they were quick to clean and bag the fish for us to take home. If we’re back in the area, we will be booking again!

Hit the grand slam! All 4 fish species of Lake Michigan caught on a six hour afternoon expedition. Big catches with a very knowledgable father and son crew. They even cleaned and cut the fish for us, labelled them in freezer bags and put them in ice. A through Z service.  I highly recommend a FishOn, LLC.

Captain Dave was absolutely amazing in every sense. Knowledgable, friendly, respectful. Hit every check mark that you can ask for with a captain. I absolutely recommend this boat and captain to anyone trying to actually put fish in the boat. Every person hit their limit and we took home SOOO MUCH FISH!

Capt. David runs trips out of Portage, Indiana accessing the entire southern basin from New Buffalo to Chicago from our centralized location. You will fish aboard a fully rigged 27' Stamas Sportfishing boat . Using modern trolling techniques you will have a chance to catch Coho Salmon Chinook Salmon, Lake Trout, Brown Trout , Steelhead and an occassional Pink Salmon. Come aboard for fishing and fun.

How cancellations work
You can cancel or modify your booking up to 3 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.

Transfer to/from departure site may be available and included in price depending on your location and distance from the dock.
How you can pay

When the captain confirms your trip, FishingBooker charges your credit card a 20% deposit to guarantee your reservation.
The remaining balance is to be paid directly to the charter operator on or prior to your trip date in one of the following payment methods:
