There's a fish with your name on it in St. James City and Walhonding Waters will help you catch it! Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Steve can tell you all about them.
Amberjack, Mangrove Snapper, Gag Grouper, Mutton Snapper, Red Grouper, Scamp Grouper, Pompano, Red Snapper, Vermilion Snapper, Lane Snapper, Black Grouper, African Pompano Jack, and more could be biting if you come at the right time of year.
You'll target your catch by fishing with heavy tackle, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Also remember to bring snacks so that everyone stays happy and energized!
You'll be casting lines from a 36' Center console that can carry up to 6 passengers. It comes with everything you need for a productive day on the water. There's a toilet on board for your convenience.
Rods and reels are not covered by the charter, so ask the captain about bringing your own or renting some for an extra cost. Be sure to ask about bait and lures as well.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
You might need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
A few items to bring include sunscreen (non-spray), sunglasses, and bottled water. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
How often would you rather be fishing? Go on and turn that day dream into a reality, with Walhonding Waters.
