Lake Buchanan has a fish with your name on it, and Ken Milam Guide Service is here to help you catch it. With Captain Max at the helm, you'll be fishing with a knowledgeable, third‑generation guide who knows these waters inside and out.
Depending on conditions, you might hook into Striped Bass, Catfish, and more. Most days you'll be fishing with live bait or trolling—whatever gives you the best shot at steady action.
Families are always welcome aboard. If you're bringing kids, feel free to ask about child‑sized life vests if you don't have your own. Snacks are always a good idea, too, especially when the excitement kicks in.
Capt. Max runs a 24' Kenner 23V center console with room for up to 6 passengers. It's fully equipped with rods, reels, tackle, and lures. Live bait is available—just ask ahead of time so you know whether you'll be catching it yourself.
Before your trip, you will need to purchase a local fishing license for everyone in your group. Some species may be protected or require tags, so it's always smart to check regulations or ask the captain directly.
Bring a hat, sunglasses, bottled water, plenty of snacks, and non‑spray sunblock. If you'd like to bring additional drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation.

I took my top performers on a fishing trip, and I came back with a rare “repeat buy”. I’m generally a one and done, on to the next activity adventure type, but everyone agreed they want to rebook next quarter. It was affordable, safe and easy. Max had everything ready when we arrived, made catching monster fish seem easy, and my salesman loved the experience. Glad we booked. The only issue we had is deciding who is invited on the next trip.

fishing with captain Max Milam was awesome! He put us on fish right away dispite windy and cloudy weather conditions. He put us on multiple species starting with striper then catfish. We limited out on striper. We caught a total of 10 striper 6 catfish and 2 white bass! My wife and I had a blast and will definitely be going again!

Fishing with me max was a heck of an experience!! Really gave a lot of pointers and there was not a lot of down time. I thought I knew fishing lol but, fishing won't be the same as coming here with max.
