    Best family fishing day ever!

    We had an amazing morning on Lake Buchanan with Captain Max. Our whole family, including our two boys, limited out on stripers and had a blast doing it. The kids were thrilled hauling in fish after fish, and the captain kept us on the action the entire time. After we finished fishing, he even took the boys over to the fishing hole, such a thoughtful touch that made the day extra special for them. Great guide, great boat, and a cooler full of fish to take home. A perfect family outing we won’t forget. Highly recommend!

    Money well spent

    4 Hour Trip (AM)

    I took my top performers on a fishing trip, and I came back with a rare “repeat buy”. I’m generally a one and done, on to the next activity adventure type, but everyone agreed they want to rebook next quarter. It was affordable, safe and easy. Max had everything ready when we arrived, made catching monster fish seem easy, and my salesman loved the experience. Glad we booked. The only issue we had is deciding who is invited on the next trip.

    striper and catfish fishing trip

    fishing with captain Max Milam was awesome! He put us on fish right away dispite windy and cloudy weather conditions. He put us on multiple species starting with striper then catfish. We limited out on striper. We caught a total of 10 striper 6 catfish and 2 white bass! My wife and I had a blast and will definitely be going again!

Trolling for Stripers with Topwater Acti

We’re locked into the late‑summer pattern, and that means the live‑bait bite and other vertical presentations have slowed way down. Even so, we’re still averaging about 15 stripers per trip by staying on the summer trolling pattern. Here’s how we’re doing it: We’re trolling bait on downriggers alongside umbrella rigs, covering water and staying in front of moving fish. When the bite peaks, it can get downright chaotic — multiple rods going off and plenty of action. We’re also starting to see more topwater schooling, which is the first big sign that we’ll soon be switching back to live bait and casting presentations as that early‑fall pattern kicks in.

Late April Bite Is On!

The morning catfish bite is absolutely wide‑open right now. Blues are stacked up and feeding hard at first light, and the action has been steady from the moment the anchors hit bottom. If you want fast rod bends and a cooler filling quick, the morning pattern is the move. By the afternoon, the striper pattern is cranking up strong. They’re pushing bait, getting more aggressive by the day, and we’re seeing solid fish when that window opens. It’s a great time to chase a mixed‑bag day on Lake Buchanan. Spring patterns are shifting fast — grab a date while the bite is hot.
