Hello, anglers!
I'm Mario Tonosi, and I invite you to discover southern Azuero, a true sport fishing paradise. This region offers a unique advantage: the continental shelf drops dramatically close to shore. Within less than 10 nautical miles, you can fish in depths of over 5,000 feet, while rock formations rise to just 100 feet below the surface, creating nutrient-rich upwellings that attract large pelagic predators. Less cruising, more fishing!
We fish off Pedasí, Tonosí, and Mariato, including legendary fishing grounds near Isla Iguana, Isla Cañas, Morro Puerco, and Cerro Hoya. Known as the "Tuna Coast," this area sees very little sport fishing traffic; less competition and more action for you. We depart at sunrise and return before sunset, giving you plenty of time to enjoy a gourmet meal with your fresh catch.
Target species include Yellowfin Tuna, Mahi-Mahi, Wahoo, Marlin, Sailfish, Snapper, Grouper, Snook, and Corvina; the incredible diversity of the Pacific!
We offer two experiences in one region. Offshore trips target big pelagic predators using trolling, popping, and jigging techniques in blue water. Estuary trips explore calm mangrove waters, perfect for targeting Snook and Corvina with live shrimp bait.
The boat "Anhelos" is equipped for adventure, featuring padded seats, a T-top canopy for shade, and top-quality fishing gear, including Tiagra, Penn, and Saragosa reels, plus a variety of lures. Just come and enjoy; we've got you covered!
About the Captain: Vidal "Lito" Ramos has extensive local knowledge and a true passion for the sea. His goal is to make every trip unforgettable, regardless of your experience level. Personalized service and great vibes are guaranteed!
After fishing, continue the experience on land. We offer a comfortable house in El Cacao de Tonosí, just 15 minutes from Cañas Dock. Our private chef will welcome you with traditional sancocho before preparing gourmet dishes from your catch.
