Spend the day with Toribios and get hooked on fishing in Quepos!
Top targets include Dolphin (Mahi Mahi), Roosterfish, Sailfish, Goliath Grouper, Blue Marlin, Red Snapper, Swordfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Snook, Tarpon, Wahoo, and more, depending on the time of year.
On the day of your trip you're likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. Capt. Emmanuel also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear. For the more adventurous among you, there's spearfishing.
If you're traveling with the family, youwill be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Snacks are permitted onboard — bring your favorites so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty belly!
Your boat for the day is a 28' Center console that holds up to 5 passengers. It has all the essentials.
You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.
Before coming aboard, it may be necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
It's recommended to bring bottled water, sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be some light snacks for you on board.
Now and then the fish might get away, but a day on the water never should. So make it happen, with Toribios!

So, the trip was definitely worth it! The captain and crew were very friendly and polite. We had one wish: to catch a tuna. The guides did everything they could to make it possible and help us turn this dream into reality. So, for everybody who likes to be surrounded by good people, loves fishing, and wants to learn more about this sport, I highly recommend this trip! PURA VIDA ☀️🎣
