These waters are known for Amberjack, Cobia, Scamp Grouper, Yellowedge Grouper, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Mangrove Snapper, Red Snapper, Swordfish, Tilefish, and more – with any luck, you'll have tight lines in no time.
You'll target your catch by light tackle fishing, popping, trolling, jigging, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Young ones are welcome, so feel free to make a family day out of it! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. You're welcome to bring snacks to maintain your energy throughout the trip!
You'll be dropping lines from a 36' Center console with capacity for 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, all the essentials no fishing machine can run without.
Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures. Live bait is included, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. It's customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation.
Before coming aboard, it may be necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
Don't forget to bring sunblock (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Give yourself something to look forward to and book a trip with Pura Pesca Charters!
