Reel River Outfitters is all about fishing the stunning waters of the Muskegon and Big Manistee Rivers. Captain Don will be your guide, providing professional experience and local knowledge. We have two boats available for larger groups.
Depending on the season and conditions, anglers commonly catch Coho Salmon, Chinook (King) Salmon, Rainbow Trout, Steelhead, Brown Trout, Walleye, and more. Both rivers offer excellent opportunities to target these species.
You’ll fish using proven techniques, including spinning, drifting, jigging, float fishing with bobbers, bottom bouncing, fly fishing, and other specialized methods effective in these waters.
Planning to bring the whole family? Kids are welcome! Ask about child-sized life jackets; otherwise, bring your own. Pack your favorite snacks to keep everyone happy throughout the trip.
Captain Don operates a 20-foot jet boat that accommodates up to six passengers. The boat is fully equipped for a safe and successful day on the water.
Rods, reels, tackle, and lures are provided. Live bait may also be available, but ask ahead to confirm whether it will be supplied or if you’ll need to catch it yourself.
Before your trip, purchase a valid Michigan fishing license. Find licensing information through the Michigan DNR website or ask Captain Don for guidance. Some species may have restrictions or require special tags, so review current regulations before fishing.
Bring bottled water, sunscreen, and polarized sunglasses. Complimentary drinks and light snacks are provided. Alcohol is permitted in moderation; please avoid glass bottles.

First river charter for me and it was really better than i expected. We were catching fish the whole time and it really was a memorable trip. we will be doing it again. Captain Donald was really great, knowledgeable, well prepared and made the trip so enjoyable.
Thank you!!! What a trip to Rememeber. To the trash talking from the grandson on catchimg the biger fish to teaching his perfesional hook set!! I could not stop laughing. All jokes a side some of the best fishing for wieght I have had all year!! Man we got into some huge Smallmouths. That kid loves fishing. I hope to see him on some salmon with that top notch hook set 😂
Don was a great Captain and guide navigating around weather challenges to keep us fishing and on fish. Caught quite a few more than we expected because Don knew all the great little honey holes. Would definitely fish with him again when we are in town!

We took a 4 hour morning trip and had the best time. Captain Donald offered to bring an extra boat so we could do a fishing tournament at no extra cost! We were able to catch a lot, including a 7lb small mouth bass! Highly recommend!

You can cancel or modify your booking up to 3 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.
