Private Fishing Tour with Marine Scientist
Join a unique fishing adventure on the fjords with a local skipper and marine scientist. Experience an authentic fishing adventure on the Sørfolda fjord. Step aboard Morild and head out into the surrounding fjords in search of iconic Arctic fish species such as Cod, Sei and Halibut while enjoying the dramatic coastal scenery.
This is more than just a fishing trip, along the way you will learn about the local marine ecosystem, sustainable fishing practices and the fascinating life beneath the surface. Guests are invited to take part in simple citizen science activities by measuring and recording catches, contributing valuable observations from the fjord environment.
Whether you are an experienced angler or trying sea fishing for the first time, this private tour offers a personal and memorable experience close to nature. With small groups of only 1–5 guests, the trip can be adapted to weather conditions, fishing opportunities and your interests on the day.
Fish & Fishing Techniques: Cod, Coalfish, Halibut, Common Ling, Pollock, Atlantic Mackerel, Wolffish, and more can be found in these waters, depending on when you go. We will use a variety of techniques depending on conditions and target species, including vertical jigging, slow jigging, spinning, and, during summer, exciting topwater fishing when Sei and Pollack feed near the surface.
Please note that fish species, abundance and fishing success naturally vary depending on season, weather and daily conditions. While catches can never be guaranteed, we do our best to provide the best possible conditions for a memorable and authentic fishing experience on the fjord.
Location: the beautiful Sørfolda fjord offers a spectacular Arctic landscape where steep mountains rise directly from the sea, creating dramatic scenery in every direction.
The trip includes:
- Guidance during the activity
- Fishing equipment
- Safety jackets
- A light snack and coffee
- Fuel (included for trips up to 20 nautical miles round trip)
