XTC Sportfishing
Spend the day with XTC Sportfishing and find out what fishing in Belmar is all about! Your guide for the day is Captain Scott, so you'll benefit from his professional experience.
Depending on conditions, you might hook into Striped Bass, Bluefish, Skipjack, Mahi Mahi (Dolphin), Little Tunny (False Albacore), Blue Marlin, Black Sea Bass, Swordfish, Bigeye Tuna, Bluefin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, and anything else that bites.
Depending on the species you're after, you may find yourself spinning, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or trying something more specialized in the area.
Capt. Scott will bring you aboard a 44' sportfishing boat with space for 6 passengers. It has outriggers and all the essentials. There's also a toilet on board for your convenience. What's more, this vessel is wheelchair accessible.
Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but it's a good idea to ask about this beforehand so you know whether you'll be catching it yourself.
A First Mate will be on board to help your trip run smoothly. It's customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, so just show up ready for some fishing! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Simply ask your captain, and they can tell you more.
It's never a bad idea to bring a hat, sunglasses, bottled water, and sunscreen (non-spray). If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, as long as you avoid hard liquor and glass bottles.
