Hoping to go fishing in Nicoya? Then Gladiators Sportfishing Samara has a trip with your name on it! With Captain Simone at the helm, you're in knowledgeable and experienced hands.
These waters are known for Amberjack, Gag Grouper, Dolphin (Mahi Mahi), Skipjack Tuna, Black Grouper, Yellowfin Tuna, Red Snapper, Roosterfish, Jack Crevalle, Goliath Grouper, and more - with any luck, you'll hook into a few!
Depending on the species you’re after, you may find yourself spinning, popping, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Simone also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.
Capt. Simone welcomes anglers of all ages, including kids, so feel free to make a family day out of it! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. You're welcome to bring snacks!
Your excursion begins aboard a 25' Panga with space for 4 passengers. It comes with all the essentials.
Capt. Simone will provide rods and reels for you, as well as lures.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
It's never a bad idea to bring a hat, sunglasses, bottled water, and sunscreen (non-spray). Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be some light snacks for you on board.
Your trip with Gladiators Sportfishing Samara is just a click away, so why not make it happen?

we had an incredible experience - caught five huge fish (i have never fished before, so i may have been easy to please). we went way out, among true local fisherman, which was cool to see lots of approaches to fishing. then the crew got wind of a whale in the area, so we tracked this incredible whale pair, seeing sevetal sea turtles along the way. and then they offered to let us swim “at the island” and we couldn”t turn that down. pura vida day!

We left shore at 7:30 AM; after an hour of travel in somewhat choppy surf, we arrived at the reef for bottom fishing. Several other boats were already on the reef but our Captain chose not to join the crowd. Selecting other more less-pressured areas of the reef, we quickly landed a huge snapper. After 3 hours we had eight whoppers! The guys were attentive to our needs and did a great job. Highly recommend these folks!

Hi George, thank you so much for the review! We're thrilled the Captain's strategy paid off with those eight big snappers. It was a pleasure having you on board with Gladiator Sportfishing Samara, and we hope to see you back on the water soon! 🎣
