PV Hook Up – GuanaTuna PV 

we went with Captain Scooby today. He did a great job bringing us around to different areas and made sure we caught fish. it’s never a given that you will, but at one ooint we had 3 fish on at the same time. we had a lot of fun.

I’d be happy to book this guys again in a snap!! They were accommodating and helpful to my wife and kids , the equipment was good, the boat was clean and the guys were ready to meet any needs. We fished bait caught some and I had not one percent thought we would catch something cool but it wasn’t 15min trilling live bait and we had a sailfish on!! Incredible experience for the wife and kids to see! Lots of tiny dorado but fun for the girls to catch. Of to snorkeling the water was perfect ! Clear and refreshing, the crew topped of the day with some fresh ceviche on the boat which was delicious! Thank you Rodrigo and Mario for a memorable experience!! Tight lines Amigos !! Tony

I want to preface this that this is fishing. I usually try to go into these situations not expecting much action because if you do, a great disappointment is not out of the equation. Having said that, we went with the Guana Tuna and Captain Scooby on our Mexico Vacation during one of the worst fishing times of the year. We were elated to find that the Spanish Mackerel were biting and they were feisty. Capt Scooby did a great job of giving us the best opportunity to catch fish and a lot of them. We ended up having an amazing day. More importantly, he listened to what we wanted. For instance, I wanted to fish and not just get handed a rod when there was a bite. He took quick stock of my abilities and let me do my thing. My wife needed some help with the equipment and he was right there helping out. By the end of the second hour, we knew the bite had stopped and Capt Scooby offered some other alternatives for us. He offered snorkeling but we elected for a short boat ride down the coast and called it a day. While the boat was cruising along, Calt Scooby made THE BEST CEVICHE I have ever had. I was truly impressed by his skills as a fisherman, a boat operator, and as a local source of knowledge. His deckhand Mario was also very patient with my wife. I will definitely sign up with Scooby again.

Let me start by saying this is my 6th time fishing in PV on different boats and the 5 previous times it’s always the same thing. Go to to southern part of the bay and troll. Sometimes never even touching a rod and never even catching a fish. I told Capt Scooby this and he made sure this wouldn’t be the same. We immediately started fishing after leaving the marina and within the first 15 minutes, all 4 of us reeled in a fish, 4 Spanish Mackerel (that was later turned into ceviche aboard the boat) and a needlefish. We then didn’t go south but stayed up north and bagged 9 or 10 Jack Crevalles. If you’re coming to fish in PV, fish with Capt Scooby! When I come back I’ll be booking with him again.

Had a great day fishing with captain Scooby and Mario. I’ve fished all over Mexico and this trip ranks up there as one of the best trips. Very professional crew,nice clean boat and lots of fish. I think in total we caught 12 Mahi Mahi and 1 bonito. If you are looking for a fishing trip in Puerto Vallarta, I highly recommend Guanatuna2 and captain Scooby.

Good communication. Fun guys to be on the water with. Captain Scooby was able to accommodate us in changing things on the fly so we could do jigging and then sight casting live bait along with some trolling. They worked all day to provide us a very good day on the water.

Dorado, Spanish Mackerel, Mahi-Mahi and Mexican Barracuda were the catches of the day! We brought in over 40 and kept two for lunch/dinner. Catch and release is super fun. Captain’s gear was in great condition and he worked hard to get us a good fishing experience. We even got on the trail of a sailfish but didn’t have luck bringing him in. I’d recommend Captain Scooby to anyone. He’s safe on the water, a very good communicator and super fun to spend the day with.

They chase schools and will get you worn out. Pulled way more fish than we were expecting and good fighters. Bull fish will beat you up. Haha thanks Scoob!
