Strait To The Hook Charters
50 years on these waters. One pristine boat. And more than a few fishing stories.
If you’re looking for more than just another fishing charter, step aboard with Captain Mike.
Mike has spent an incredible 50 years fishing the waters around Campbell River. Now retired, he charters because he genuinely loves being out there. He’s laid-back, quick-witted, and always has a story to tell. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or new to fishing, expect good conversation, a few laughs, and a captain who truly enjoys sharing what he knows.
Chinook Salmon is the main event, with Coho, Lingcod, and other species available upon request depending on the season.
Mike also spent years fishing the waters around Sonora Island and Bute Inlet, including the channels, passes, and powerful tidal waters that make this part of the coast so unique.
Ask about our special Sonora-area trips, where the journey can be as memorable as the fishing. Experience wild coastal BC, remote islands, abundant wildlife, spectacular scenery, and the renowned Gillard Passage and Yuculta Rapids. Mike’s years in these waters offer the chance to explore this extraordinary area with someone who knows it intimately.
You’ll fish aboard Strait to the Hook’s pristine 23' Seaswirl Striper, meticulously maintained and powered by a HP Suzuki. Trips are limited to 4 guests, with an onboard toilet and all fishing gear provided.
Keep your eyes open along the way, whales, dolphins, sea lions, eagles, and other wildlife can make the journey every bit as memorable as the fishing.
After your trip, Mike can fillet and bag your catch or assist with arranging professional processing for the journey home.
Families are welcome, with trips best suited for ages 10+.
Come for the Chinook. Stay for the scenery, wildlife, laughs, and stories you won’t find in a guidebook.
