Vikingos and Roosterfish
Hoping to go fishing in Zihuatanejo? Make it happen with Vikingos and Roosterfish! Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Cheva knows them forwards and back.
Roosterfish, Sailfish, Black Marlin, Blue Marlin, Striped Marlin, Dolphin (Mahi Mahi), Black Skipjack Tuna, Needlefish, and more are in the cards, depending on conditions.
During the trip, you might be spinning, popping, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Cheva also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.
If you're traveling with the family, you'll be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Life jackets are available on board for both children and adults. You're welcome to bring snacks to ward off any mid-trip fatigue!
You'll be fishing aboard a 24' Sportfishing boat with room for 4 passengers. It has a fighting chair and everything you need for a productive day on the water. There's a toilet on board for your convenience.
Capt. CHEVA will supply rods and reels for you, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
You'll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. Mates often work for tips, and it's customary to offer them a 10–20% tip.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, so just show up ready for a good time! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
It's always wise to bring a hat, sunglasses, bottled water, and sunscreen (non-spray). If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
