Valeria's Sportfishing Tours is run by an enthusiastic crew who have all been on the water since they were little children. The crew is made up of locals in the area who are able to put you in the best spots and guarantee a fun day out. They will teach you about the different species of fish available in the Puerto Vallarta region as well as the techniques needed to catch them.
You'll be onboard a 29' Nava Center console boat, built in 2016 and powered by two 100 HP Suzuki engines. This makes for a fast and powerful ride on the clear waters of Puerto Vallarta. The boats are equipped with a GPS, radar, a VHF radio, and a fishfinder to locate great fishing spots.
They also contain a toilet, a wireless trolling motor, tuna tubes, and iceboxes, as well as a fighting chair, needed when tackling big game fish like Marlin. There's also a much-needed flybridge to provide shade from the hot Mexican sun. There's snorkeling equipment and the crew is happy to take their guests on snorkeling tours for the best underwater experience.
The crew is well experienced in different fishing techniques such as light and heavy tackle, trolling, and spearfishing. They are able to pass on their knowledge and equip you with skills needed to catch Jack Crevalle, Mahi Mahi, Roosterfish, Swordfish, Blackfin Tuna, Sailfish, and Blue Marlin, as well as smaller species available in the local waters.
They provide rods, reels, tackle, spearfishing and snorkeling equipment, live bait and lures, as well as fishing licenses and drinks. They are also happy to clean and fillet your catch so you can take it straight to the table at the end of the day.

We had a great time on our 4 hour fishing trip. We started catching Spanish mackerel right away and after we caught enough to make ceviche we went further out for jack crevalle. The weather was beautiful and we curled up on the cushions in the front of the boat and let the rising sun warm us while the captain trolled us around. Unfortunately, the jack crevalle were not biting. However, on the.way back to the dock the captain spotted a whale with its calf and so he turned us around and we rode out to have a close-up look. Since our trip was 'officially' over this was above and beyond for them to take additional time to show us the whales, and we were very appreciative.
We would recommend this to anyone looking for a light, easy fishing trip. The captain spoke perfect English and patiently answered all our tourist question. The mate was on top of his job, unhooking the saber-tooth Macks and cleaning everything so we weren't slipping.
Note: There is a nominal port fee so be sure to bring pesos to pay it.

Glorious sunrise, many whales, dolphins, sea turtles. My goal was to bring Mahi Mahi home for large family Christmas dinner. I have never fished in the ocean and our captain was very instructive. I brought zip lock bags and insulated bag, froze filet in hotel room fridge & checked it in & it was still frozen.

Jorge and his son Alexis were by far one of my favorite crew to have on a boat. They were very experienced and worked there tails off for us today. We ended up hooking 2 mahi within 5 min of fishing. This lead is us into a big blue Marlin 350lbs + unfortunately it it broke the main line after few seconds of the fight. Gave us a great show as it took off. We saw couple more marlin but they were not interested in eating. Hooked up 2 more mahi to end the day. I would recommend these guys in a heartbeat. I would also like to add these guys had top of the line Penn and Avet reels.
