Captain Hook’s – Calipso
Get ready for a true Bay of Bengal welcome aboard Captain Hook’s Calipso, as you explore the rich waters of the Indian Ocean in search of monster fish. There’s no commercial fishing in the productive waters around Havelock Island, so you’ll have it all to yourself. Come aboard and put your skills to the test to land the fish of your dreams.
Captain Qutub Taher will personally make sure that you have everything you need for a fun-filled day out. He moved to the island from Bangalore to work in the fishing industry, before falling in love with sportfishing. He started his own charter company to make sure that others can have the same experience as him and promises to do everything he can to make sure you have a holiday to remember.
The Calipso is a 35’ Yamaha center console. She was built in Dubai, specifically for fishing the range of waters on offer in the Indian Ocean. Up to 4 guests are welcome aboard the spacious vessel to make yourselves at home, while the crew will take care of your every need. Take advantage of the free drinks and a full lunch to stay refreshed, while also engaging in some thrilling fishing.
You’ll spend your time popping, jigging, and live baiting for a long list of exciting fish. Get ready for a serious battle as the monster fish here promise to do whatever they can to get off the end of your line. Prepare to be blown away by Giant and Bluefin Trevallies, Yellowfin, Dogtooth, and Skipjack Tuna, along with Bonito, Groupers, Snappers, Jacks, Barracuda, Wahoo, and much more.
Everything you need for a productive day out awaits you on board, but feel free to bring your own fishing gear. If you want to discover the waters up close and personal, you’ll also have the chance to go snorkeling too. All Capt. Qutub asks is that you swing by Captain Hook’s Activity Center a day before to finalize your trip details.

Full Day Trip
We flyfishermen are bloody mad!
Qutab worked very hard Great onshore person arranging all logistics He speaks wonderful English; good story teller. Very intelligent; appears to be a good business guy Gave me the bigger boat at the same price. Found good, affordable lodging for me in Havelock and in Port Blair Put me on bait ball after bait ball The Tale of the Tape: a monster Giant Trevally! Surely would have gotten more but I insisted on using only the flyrod after the first, NOT HIS FAULT, almost impossible to get close enough w/o spooking them (plus upwind, boat turned 90 degrees, stable enough for a cast, etc etc etc…..). We flyfishermen are bloody mad! Boat, captain and fishing was awesome, my overall experience is rated with 3 stars only due to due to logistics mixup which resulted in starting the trip short on the first day and cutting it a bit short on the second day, the boat was further than we thought it was and we had to take a fairy..

Great Day
From the beginning to the end we loved Andaman Sport Fishing. We were with a kid and didn't want to go offshore so Qutub suggested a semi-offshore trip that was a great idea. Everything was done in timely manner. My daughter was so excited and just few minutes after the start we got a great price fish, the best moment of the entire trip! She talked about it for days later :) Mate was quite well educated and explained origin of each fish we caught. THe equipment and the bait was surprisingly modern. It was a great day at sea and at very reasonable price too.

Unforgettable!
Very helpful and amicable staff made this trip the best thing in Andamans. Both fishing and diving was great and we ended up with several species that were on my bucket list. Accommodation was great and I must thank again to the crew for making me feel like part of the crew. Unforgettable! I will be back soon
