The captains behind this charter work hard and have extensive knowledge of the local fishery. In addition to this, they also guarantee that by the time you finish your trip with them, you’ll be a better fisherman!
"The Soggy Bottom" is a sturdy 22’ Cape Horn center console, built to accommodate up to 6 guests. She features a T-Top for shade, as well as a safety rail that goes all around the front of the boat. It’s perfect for keeping the little ones out of harm’s way!
This vessel is powered by a 225 HP Honda engine and reaches speeds of up to 40 knots. She’s equipped with a GPS, fishfinder, and VHF radio to aid your captain in navigating the plentiful waters of the Gulf of Mexico. There’s also an ice box on board, so any refreshments you bring with you will be kept nice and cool all day long.
When it comes to what your adventure will look like, your captain specializes in family-friendly inshore and nearshore fishing charters. You can stay close to land and fish with light tackle for huge Redfish, Speckled Trout, Spanish Mackerel, and Tarpon, or head further offshore to battle larger pelagic species like Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, and Cobia.
Otherwise, you can fish the reefs, jigging for Amberjack and bottom fishing for Snappers and Groupers. The choice is yours, and your captain will be with you every step of the way to make your day is the best it can possibly be.
All the fishing gear that you’ll need for your excursion are included in your trip, and your group’s fishing license will also be covered by the charter service. All that’s left is to hop aboard The Soggy Bottom. Don’t just go fishing…Go catching!

Half day with Captain David
It was an absolute blast! Captain David was super knowledgeable and worked hard to put us on fish all day. We caught grouper, trigger fish, rubies, and our son even caught a bull shark! We saw dolphins, and all kinds of birds. We highly recommend Soggy Bottom, and thank you to captain David for giving this Colorado family and experience to remember forever! We will be back for snapper season! Thank you!

Fun, educational and great company. Do very much recommend!!!
The guys are great, very easy to get along with and will answer any questions. Went with Chris, very easy to learn with him and knows the area onshore and off very well. I booked 3 captains on a scout trip for the family, and these guys are definitely staying on the list for our return without a doubt. Thanks guys, see you next year!!!

Rough Waters but still good
The captain took us to pass to see how rough the water was before we committed to go out.. Then we went back to get bait fish. He was fun, courteous & experienced. Caught a few fish but conditions eventually go to us . Overall, still had a good time

Half day trip with Capt David
The trip was great despite the windy conditions. The boat is a little small for four people. Would be best for two. Had to motor quite a distance to fish and the waves were rough. Caught a lot of fish!! David knew where the fish were. Wish we had told him we just wanted to catch fish and didn't care if we had any to take home. We could have stayed in one spot and caught all day. But, that was our fault. Great guy, very nice and was a refreshing change from some grumpy captains.

4 Hour Night Fishing Bay Trip
Night fishing with Captain David
We experienced our first night fishing trip with Captain David and we had a Great time. The scenery at night is spectacular. We brought our two boys and Captain David was exceptional with them, they had a great time, we all did. If you haven't been on a night trip, you need to try it at least once, with Captain David and Soggy B. Catch of the night was red fish, trout, black snapper, and a flounder that was to small to keep....we will definitely book another trip with Soggy B...thanks Captain David for the great first experience!
