I have been fishing out of the scenic port of Frankfort since 1978. Frankfort is one of the most scenic ports on the Great Lakes and in 2011, the Good Morning America TV show held a poll that designated the Sleeping Bear Dunes Lakeshore, just north of us, as "The Most Beautiful Place In America". Frankfort is a small, friendly town with a variety of shopping and dining options availalable and several 5 star golf courses are within a short driving distance. The Cabbage Shed (bar and restaurant), one of the most popular destinations in town, is right next door to the marina.
Our boat, The Trophy Cup, was designed for charter fishing and includes all of the tackle, electronics and safety equipment needed for a fun day on the water. We have a private, enclosed toilet area (new elelctric toilet). Our Coast Guard license allows us to carry up to six passengers.
The fishing season in Frankfort starts around mid-May and lasts up until mid-September. During this time, we fish for Salmon, Lake Trout, and Steelhead.
Our fee includes all the necessary rods, reels and terminal tackle you'll need for a successful trip. We clean and bag your catch and bagged ice is available for purchase at the marina. Bring along a pair of sunglasses as well as some drinks and snacks and the adventure can begin.

Captain Eric and Ron worked it hard on a day nobody was catching anything and squeezed out a king and a coho. We had a great time!!!

Fishing on the Trophy Cup!
Half Day Trip - AM on July 23, 2022
We chose the morning trip. Its early but I'm up anyway. Captain Eric and his first mate were ready and waiting when we got to the dock. Quick introductions and we are off. After a short run we were setting lines at first light. You could tell that these guys had done this many times and they had a system! Communicating lure choice and depth, boat speed, marking fish with sonar and other information useful in getting us some fish (salmon). This appeared to be work to me! You could tell though they both enjoyed what they were doing.
Fish were caught and a great time was had. Back at the dock the fish are cleaned , bagged and iced for us. What a great experience!

Fishing with Gold Coast Charter Service

I have fished with Captain Eric on his boat on multiple occasions, both the AM and PM trips and it is always a great experience. Eric is knowledgeable and has great equipment, and the boat is clean and comfortable. There are fantastic views of the dunes and lighthouses as you head out and back on the water, too. I would highly recommend fishing with Gold Coast out of Frankfort! I look forward to fishing with them again this summer.
