Fish the legendary backcountry waters of Everglades National Park with Captain Joey!
With decades of experience fishing South Florida and the Everglades, Captain Joey specializes in putting families, first-time anglers and experienced fishermen on some of Florida’s most exciting inshore species.
Target fish: Snook, Redfish, Tarpon, Black Drum, Sheepshead, Speckled Trout, Mangrove Snapper, Cobia and more depending on season and conditions.
You will be sailing aboard a 21’ Hewes saltwater fishing boat. It comes powered by a 250 HP Yamaha engine and is rigged with top-of-the-line navigational electronics. The vessel’s wireless trolling motor and anchoring system will aid your search for the fish.
A half-day or a full-day trip can take you fishing the reefs, flats, backcountry or inshore. Depending on the trip you chose, you will be able to target a variety of species, including Cobia, Permit, Snook, and Goliath Grouper.
Joey Flats Fishing is also child-friendly! Captain Jose uses different fishing techniques that he can teach his guests. From light tackle to bottom fishing, fly fishing, popping, jigging and spinning… as long as you are up for a challenge!
Your trip will include rods, reels, tackle, lures, live bait, and licenses. What is more, you will not be left thirsty – the captain will offer you drinks during the trip. You are welcome to bring your own snacks & lunch. The fish you catch will be cleaned and filleted for you to take home. Just Make sure to contact the captain to discuss your meeting location prior to the trip.

He made my son and I feel right at home. He knew his territory lime the bavk of his hand and modified the trip to satisfy all of our goals which not only included catchimg several different species of fish but also experiencing the unique aspects of the Everglades. Captain Joey ensured that we coaught fish but also went above and beyond to make sure we made it to an Eco tour we had pre planned in the park. Because we were pushing our time limit to make it to the Eco tour, Captain Joey met us after we finished our Eco tour to give us fish that we had caught to take home to cook up that night! This was truly above and beyond what was expected of a guide! His actions illustrated his character and his business acumen! I would recommend Captain Joey to anybody 1000 times over!

Captain Joey is super experienced and knows all the best spots to fish, and is very friendly and always willing to help us, to make sure we had the best experience. We caught A LOT OF FISH! Snooks, snappers, catfish, saw a few sharks and dolphins too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I booked a trip with Captain Joey to celebrate my son‘s 13th birthday. He did a great job checking in with us before the trip. Everything we needed on the boat was ready to go. He did a great job explaining to us the history of the national park as well as sharing some stories of when he fished this area when he was younger. Every spot he took us to was a great spot for fishing. When the spot ran a little cold, he was ready to move onto the next spot. My son had a great birthday and so did his cousin who we also brought along for the trip. I can’t thank him enough. I highly recommend that you book your trip with Captain Joey.

what a great Fishing Trip with these two people Anthony and Miss Aspen. They booked the whole day Fishing Trip and let me tell you we fish the whole day we caught snook. We caught snapper Jack it was just a really fun day out there. this young gentleman totally changed my mind on artificial bait.
