Calypso Fishing Charters sails the waters of Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico. Their Captain Ariel and his friendly team are true professionals, who offer an excellent service to all their guests. Calypso Fishing Charters knows where the best fishing playgrounds are and how to get there.
You will be fishing aboard a 30-foot “Calypso” boat, powered by twin 150 HP Mercury engines. It has a maximum cruising speed of 23 knots and is equipped with navigational electronics, Bluetooth multimedia system, an ice-box, Tuna tubes, outriggers, centerriggers, and downriggers, as well as a live bait tank and a fighting chair. What is more, there is a toilet and a bed on board the vessel to ensure your maximum comfort on the water.
Calypso Fishing Charters offers a great variety of trips to choose from. If you want to go fishing the Bay waters, the four-hour package is just what you need. A 6-hour trip will see you fishing and heading south to the beautiful beach of Las Animas, where you can go snorkeling and have lunch. The Captain’s personal favorite package is a nine-hour trip, which includes fishing, snorkeling, and a trip to Yelapa to have lunch on the beach, as well as whale watching when in the season.
For those passionate anglers who want some bigger action, Calypso Fishing Charters offers a 10-hour trip up to 45 miles offshore and a 12-hour trip for two people up to 70 miles offshore. You will be able to target a variety of species, including Amberjack, Great Barracuda, Mahi Mahi, Jack Crevalle, King Mackerel, Blue Marlin, Roosterfish, Sailfish, Red Snapper, and Skipjack Tuna.
Captain Ariel Rosen and his crew use a lot of various fishing techniques which you will also be able to try, such as light and heavy tackle, bottom fishing, trolling, jigging, drift fishing, handline, spinning, popping, kite fishing, and spearfishing.

Great crew and got some fish
Booked a 6 hour trip with Calypso 1 and had a great time with the crew. Got a chance to see some whales and dolphins as well as catch a some fish. Crew was great and provided a fun time. Only draw back was having to pay an extra fee to go out to a fishing site that was further away eventhough it was still a six hour trip. It felt like we were being up sold a bit.

Eric and Javier were awesome. Caught a couple of GC then got into a huge frenzy of skip Jackson. Whales everywhere. Dolphins turtles and birds. They are great guys.

Fantastic morning of fishing
We got off to a late start because the boat was at a different dock than was my party, but once were underway, it was great, and the crew kept us out longer to make up for lost time. Eric and Alec were great guys who worked their butts off to make sure we caught fish. We had very little action in the first 90 minutes, so they changed their plan and took us to an area where they heard on the radio there was more action. All 4 of us landed at least one fish that was 30 lb or more, on a day when other groups returned to the docks without having caught a single fish. Eric and Alec were very patient and helpful to all of us, and it was just a terrific experience.

8 Hour Charter
Captain Ariel's crew for our charter, Eric and Adrian, did an upstanding job in guiding us to the fishing spots around the point of Punta Mita and further north. They were clearly an experienced charter crew and diligent in getting the right bait and lures and we were successful in catching 3 fish including a large Dorado. We were very pleased with our trip and would recommend this crew to anyone seeking a charter. Thank you Ariel for ensuring we had a great day fishing.
