Marty is an excellent guide I can’t recommend highly enough.  He’s very knowledgable and most importantly put my son & I on a trophy striped bass that weighed over 20 #s!!! 
He’s an excellent guide - he’d gone out on his own time the previous day to get bait for our trip, rather than wasting paid-customer time doing this.  Frankly, he’s the only guide I’ve had do this and this attention to detail and time-saving was greatly appreciated. 
Marty gets 5 stars from me…and he should from you after your next outing with him!

It was our 40th anniversary so what better way to celebrate but with a fishing trip! We met Alan at 7 a.m., which is early for us retirees, but we made it. Alan was so friendly that we immediately engaged in lively chatter.  Gosh, I wish we had brought a thermos of coffee to sip as we glided through the water of Lake Allatoona.  As the sun rose, we found a group of boats lined up in a particular area: fish were there! We got in the area and began fishing. What a joy, not baiting hooks!  And, taking them off!  Alan told us what to look for and showed us how to interpret the fish finder monitor. Alan’s boat was equipped with a GPS/remote-controlled trolling motor that could be set to idle in areas where the fish were (who knew that was possible!)  It was a gorgeous day and we saw lots of wild birds: osprey (who had a fish in its claws), geese, ducks, etc., you get the picture.  We learned a lot from Alan who told us how to tie knots for a hook, what hook used (never heard of a circle hook?), changed our bait often, explained the difference in baits, etc. 
Don’t be concerned about being on the lake and no bathroom in site.  Alan knew exactly where to go and the pit stop was very nice.  It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed everything about it.  Would we do again -  YES!

Marty’s River Fishing made my birthday very enjoyable. My friends and I really enjoyed this trip. We would recommend Marty’s River Fishing to anyone Looking to have a great day on the water.

Marty and Alan did everything in their power to give us an enjoyable experience, and they succeeded! Due to the rain and the rising levels of the river we moved from a river trip on Tuesday to a Lake trip on Friday. And though they weren’t biting, we did not come home empty handed, and thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing time on a beautiful lake. Even got to watch a gorgeous bald Eagle fly across the lake in front of us. We are looking forward to coming back when it is a good time for fishing the river to bring home that 25+ pounder!
