Go Get ‘Em Sportfishing invites you on the ultimate deep sea fishing adventure in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. This tropical paradise is located on the Big Island and used to be the capital city of the Kingdom of Hawaiʻi, until the capital moved to Lāhainā, then, to Honolulu. It is also the place where King Kamehameha I spent his final years and where the royal Hawaiian family used to holiday. If it’s good enough for royalty…
Kailua-Kona has, as you would expect in a tropical paradise, a tropical climate. The warm temperatures allow local charter operators to be on the water daily and catch fish. Charter company Go Get ‘Em Sportfishing is owned and operated by Captain Jim Wigzell. Jim has been fishing in Kona since 1985, and his family owns Pancho and Lefty’s Cantina that can cook your catch if don’t have a kitchen.
Captain Jim will take you out on his 36-foot Uniflite offshore sport fishing boat originally built in 1976, and restored in 2017. It is powered by two 300 HP Cummings Diesel B12 Series engines, with a maximum cruising speed of 17 knots.
The vessel has a flybridge which you can use to sight fish, a toilet, and a kitchen with a fridge for your convenience. It also features outriggers, Tuna tubes, an icebox, a livewell, and a fighting chair.
Go Get ‘Em Sportfishing will take you fishing the offshore waters of Kona, which are home to the world’s most desirable fish species. You can target Mahi Mahi, Ahi (Yellowfin Tuna), Blue and Striped Marlin, Ono (Wahoo), Shortbill Spearfish, Amberjack, Giant Trevally, and many more species.
You can choose a four, six, eight, or ten-hour trip, or an overnight trip which includes nighttime fishing.
The crew has two goals: to make sure you catch fish and to have a great time doing it! They offer kid-friendly charters and are able to accommodate total beginners and experienced anglers who know exactly what they want. So, book your trip today and join the Go Get ‘Em Family on a deep blue water adventure.
