We welcome you aboard a 33' Offshore sport fishing boat that can carry up to 5 passengers. It comes equipped with all the necessary fishing technology including outriggers, a fighting chair, and more. Plus, inside you'll find a small sitting area with table and a clean bathroom with sink and toilet. Your captain will provide rods and reels for you, along with lures.

Kona has the unique distinction of being one of the few places in the world that has a caught over a 1,000 lbs. blue marlin in each month of the year, meaning you have the opportunity to land a massive trophy fish.

Blue Marlin, ono (Wahoo), Mahi Mahi, Yellowfin Tuna, Striped Marlin, Short bill Spearfish, and more are in the cards if you come at the right time of year.

All experience levels are welcome as we go through a complete safety briefing and tutorial regarding how the fish will bite, and how to properly use a fighting chair. Families are always welcome, and we love sharing fishing experience's with children. For some young anglers it can be a long day on a boat, so parents are encouraged to keep that in mind or please call us with any questions.

A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. Mates often work for tips and it's customary to offer them a 20% tip. You can't go wrong when you bring sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen (non-spray). Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor and glass bottles.

Highlight of our trip to Kona!

5 Hour Fishing Escape (AM) on July 4, 2025 • 2 adults • 2 children

Booking with Brent and TJ was a home run for our family, and was the best part of our visit to Kona. We had a 5-hour fishing trip for our family of 4 who are not fisherman (including a 13 year old and 11 year old). The boat was plenty big for our family, and Brent and TJ quickly made our family feel welcome and taught us all the basics. We caught 3 fish, including a marlin, barracuda, and short billed spear fish. We also saw a pod of pilot whales. In between catching fish, Brent and TJ were easy to talk to and share the big island with us. Would highly recommend these gentleman for your trip! -Ryan and Jenna

No Screaming Reels

5 Hour Fishing Escape (AM) on June 1, 2025 • 2 adults • 2 children

We didn't get to hear the scream of the reels during out trip, as we did not get any bites, which was disheattening, Yet, Brent and TJ were attentive and did what seemed like their best to find a strike--even staying out a little longer on the water. We saw a rainbow on the water and a handful of birds. The water was, from what Brent told us, a lot choppier than it usually is. Through it all, Brent stayed optimistic and hopeful we would catxh something ; I guess 75% of charters catch fish, so we were the one in four that came up empty handed. Brent and TJ are both very knowledgable. Brent, the captain, has fished extensively on lakes and the ocean in Canada, Florida, and Hawaii. T.J., who served as first mate on our trip, has his own boat and is unobtrusive, yet atrentive to people's needs. We would book with them again. Brent also operates a manta snorkeling ship that visits the Old Airport site. We didn't know that ahed of time, or we would have booked our manta trip with him as well.

Captain Brent knows his stuff!

Sunset Bite Escape - 4 Hours on May 29, 2025 • 3 adults

Brent called me the night before the trip and asked if it's ok if we can leave an hour or more earlier because the fish had been biting earlier in the day. Sure, we have room in the schedule so we showed up 75 minutes earlier than planned. Well, good thing we listen to the captain because we caught our first 40lb Ono within 60 seconds of them showing us how to use the reel. After bringing that fish in, Rooster reset the lines, and started cleaning the fish and suddenly, bam! Another Ono was on the line! All within that 60 minute window we showed up earlier per Brent's suggestion. Had we stuck to the schedule we would have gone home empty handed. Instead we were eating fresh fish all week! Brent knows his stuff and his boat gets the job done.

Best fishing trip ever!!!

5 Hour Fishing Escape (AM) on May 21, 2025 • 2 adults

Took my daughter fishing for her 21st birthday and had a blast. Everyone made us feel relaxed and welcomed. Captain Brent was great and very informative with both fishing and The Big Island. TJ the deck hand was awsome and funny. My daughter caught a Shortbill spearfish. Captain Brent suggested for us to take the fish to Ocean seafood and Chinese restaurant. They cooked if 5 ways and was delicious. I would highly recommend booking the Reel Escape if you're on the Big Island and want to make a core memory. 100% Highly Recommend!!!

Great day of fishing in kona

We had a great day of fishing named kona and was able to catch a few great fish. The captain and crew were great. People who enjoy their job and want to make sure that their guests have a wonderful time. The fishing equipment was very nice and worked well along with the boat. Win on a five hour fishing trip and was able to catch two fish and sorry to say one larger one that got away. The crew was very helpful, making sure we understood what we had to do and had a great time with them. Definitely would recommend them.
